Good evening, radu...hope your day has gone well and drying continues for the farmers.

Sun has been out most of the day. It sure was nice waking up to daylight and sunshine. Still below freezing at night, tho.

Hey there, Kathy.

Yes, the day’s gone well. I managed to get the last of the mowing done and the place looks civilized now. LOL
I’ll go easy tomorrow to rest my back so I’ll be ready for museum time Friday. It’s a little cranky this evening.

It’s been a very pretty day up there today. It’s been nice to see sunshine up there lately after days of gloomy, snowy weather. And bare ground! Haven’t seen that in months.

Are your ice dams almost gone now?

April 20

Pressing On in Jesus

Bible in a Year:

Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on.

Philippians 3:13–14

On a run in the forest, I tried to find a shortcut and went down an unfamiliar path. Wondering if I was lost, I asked a runner coming the other way if I was on the right track.

“Yup,” he replied confidently. Seeing my doubtful look, he quickly added: “Don’t worry, I’ve tried all the wrong routes! But that’s okay, it’s all part of the run.”

What an apt description of my spiritual journey! How many times have I strayed from God, given in to temptation, and been distracted by the things of life? Yet God has forgiven me each time and helped me to move on—knowing I will certainly stumble again. God knows our tendency to go down the wrong path. But He’s always ready to forgive, again and again, if we confess our sins and allow His Spirit to transform us.

Paul too knew this was all part of the faith journey. Fully aware of his sinful past and current weaknesses, he knew he had yet to obtain the Christlike perfection he desired (Philippians 3:12). “But one thing I do,” he added, “forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on” (vv. 13–14). Stumbling is part of our walk with God: it’s through our mistakes that He refines us. His grace enables us to press on, as forgiven children. .

Reflect & Pray

What mistakes can you confess to God today? How can His assurance of forgiveness help you to press on in your walk of faith?

Thank You, God, for Your mercy. Help me to lead a life that pleases You, knowing that Your Spirit is working in me to transform me into Your Son’s likeness.

Explore classes to help you grow on your spiritual journey.

Hectic morning, but settled down in the afternoon and payroll/checks completed for this week.

Now the clean up and late stuff.

Howdy, luvie.

Was it another toasty day or were you lucky enough they blew the forecast?
Pretty warm here but the wind was blowing pretty hard. That kept it barely comfy enough to mow, but was I ever covered in grass when finished. LOL

Hey there, radu!

Were you a chia pet again today? LOL! Are you close to being done with that humongous lawn? Bet it’s looking gorgeous with all the rain you’ve had this spring!

It was hot again. 91 and uncomfortable. And windy. The wind was no help. Tomorrow will be mid-80s, for which I’ll be grateful!

If it calmed down this afternoon, that’s pretty good compared to the past couple of pay weeks. Still no fun. It’ll be nice if you can get the clean up and late stuff done at a reasonable hour tonight.

LOL! Definitely a Chia Pet again today, more so than yesterday.
Yes, I’m done with the yard and all mowing for the week. After this weekend’s rain, I’ll need to do it all over again next week.

Ugh! Sorry it broke 90 again. At least you have a little cool-down to look forward to tomorrow.

We’ll have 80s again tomorrow, the our cool-down begins and goes through the weekend.
