How Bud Light's Dylan Mulvaney debacle has left Anheuser-Busch paralyzed: Company 'never expected' backlash and is now TRAPPED as it refuses to disavow partnership

Bud Light parent company Anheuser-Busch appears to be trapped between a rock and a hard place as it grapples with polarization over its paid partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

Since the controversy emerged on April 1, Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch's main social media accounts have fallen silent, despite major sporting events of the kind the brand typically chimes in on.

Aside from an initial terse statement, Anheuser-Busch has also ignored media requests on the issue. Last week, a Missouri distributor canceled an event featuring the famed Budweiser Clydesdales, citing safety concerns.

'They never expected the reaction that they got,' said Gareth Boyd, a marketing and PR expert with Forte Analytica, speaking to DailyMail.com on Thursday as an industry observer. 'Right now, if they respond and they don't get it right, they're only going to further hurt themselves.'

'I think they're probably trying to avoid talking about it, hoping and praying that it will go away, but it's probably the worst thing you could possibly do,' he added...

Behind the scenes Anheuser-Busch, there have been hints of internal turmoil and finger-pointing over fallout from the controversy.

According to sources cited by the Daily Wire, 'no one at a senior level' was aware of the Mulvaney brand partnership before it launched, and the campaign was undertaken by a 'low-level marketing staffer.'

Executives have 'paused' new marketing campaigns so they can implement a more robust vetting process for future projects, according to the report...

I still have not purchased a Nike product since Kapernick. Easy to substitute.

“1000s of Beer companies exist and most of them are better than Bud anyways.”

and that’s the REAL problem with boycotts when there are a plethora of better alternatives ... folks don’t keep a boycott going indefinitely, they simply abandon their former product because they discovery something they like better, a discovery they would have never made in the first place if a boycott hadn’t gotten them up off their arses to try something different than their same ol’ same ol’ ...

“This type of backlash does not have staying power. People forget quickly and then it is business as usual.”

I notice that many here now are returning to Fox after boycotting in 2020.

Luckily for me, I have been boycotting AB products most of my life! I think I have bought two cases of Coronas and maybe two cases of Michelob Ultra, my entire life. Of course, I do NOT like Buttwiper beers - they give me a headache and they taste bad from the first to the last except, we use Coronas to make micheladas so that covers the taste and Ultras actually taste good.

I like local brews and macro-brews, mostly. But I also like Miller products (Ice House was my favorite). But to be totally honest, I am a little biased...I worked at the Miller plant in Fort Worth for about six years! And while in the Marine Corps, you could buy a case of Milwaukee’s Best for $2.95, a case at the base package store, so...

Yep, I think I will CONTINUE my boycott!!

I'm sure many here would say the same thing. But the fact remains that since the winter of 2016, Nike's stock has outperformed both the Dow and the S&P 500, and it is not close, despite Nike's stock crater the first 9 months of 2022.

Yep, some mistakes you cannot never outlive. Bid light will be a laughingstock butt of jokes for quite a while now.

Leftists don’t do boycotts. They threaten physical violence either directly or indirectly. Unfortunately, their threats get results.

An analogy would be with Gillette, where the competition is considerable, though not as intense as Anheuser Busch. Gillette permanently lost market share as a result. I think they will lay low for a few months, then bring out cops, soldiers, firemen, and the Clydesdale horses to revive the brand. Do conservative beer drinkers have memories longer than fruit flies? We will find out.

Ad Suggestion:

You’re a tranny and you work hard to look like a women. Although, most of the time you are mocking womenhood and even your own biological mother who actually gave birth to you .. which btw was a act of nature.
Oh, And you are mocking God ,too. You are suggesting he made a mistake.
Otherwise, it takes a lot of nerve to compete in sports with biological women. And even more nerve to take a shower with them. That’s why you drink Bud Light. Because its as confused as you.. because Bud Light thinks its a beer the same way you think you’re a women.
