Bud Light's vice president of marketing discussed in a recent interview how she was inspired to update the "fratty" and "out of touch" humor of the beer company with inclusivity.
Alissa Heinerscheid did an interview with the podcast "Make Yourself At Home" on March 30, where she discussed her work in transforming the Bud Light brand.
"I’m a businesswoman, I had a really clear job to do when I took over Bud Light, and it was ‘This brand is in decline, it’s been in a decline for a really long time, and if we do not attract young drinkers to come and drink this brand there will be no future for Bud Light,'" Heinerscheid said.
Heinerscheid's comments have gone viral days later, after Bud Light and its parent company Anheuser-Busch received backlash for partnering with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney.

Her eyes are too close together. That’s a genetic issue!
I disagree. Behind the scenes, leftist white woman are orchestrating everything that elevates people like Stacey Abrams. White young women are currently infected with a deadly mind virus, and are the greatest threat to this country ever known.
The steal has been going on for decades. The unions were the primary culprits and till are.
Apparently, this brilliant woman doesn’t understand who the target audience is for beer!!! Most women do NOT like beer! They don’t like the taste and they don’t like the bloated feeling it gives them (and yes, even light beer gives them this feeling)!
College-aged men are the primary target and purchaser of their product...why would you try to ruin that relationship with this BS trans crap?
She should have thought to use “The Official Beer of the George Floyd Riots” before she went straight ahead with the sexual pervert beer thingy. Even the Clydesdales are too embarrassed to show their faces.
Well, my thoughts are just looking at MY life cause that is what she is doing maybe???!!!
I stopped drinking beer around 23 as I didn’t like Bud, Schlitz, Pearl, Lone Star or regular Shiner. I went to Jack Daniels and now Cooper’s Rye- Old Fashion- thank you. I can afford it since I get a social security check each month!!
My husband, okay we married in early 40’s..!!!, drank Shiner Bock mostly but also considers most American mass produced brands as kidney testing so he doesn’t have to do physicals each year. Beer in our home is IPA, stouts, Convict Hill..etc. He’s still on the payroll so he works a few more hours a week to afford JB’s inflationary beer budget.
She should have been fired yesterday.
A week or so ago I had purchased a case of Bud Light and a 12-pack of Corona for the Easter crowd this weekend. After the Dylan Mulvaney news cycle, I tossed both in the garbage can on Thursday night for Friday’s trash collection.
It turned awkward when my wife announced to guests the beer options and that they were in the garage, “Help yourselves!”
At that point, and in front of many family members, I had to correct the available beers, with my wife looking at me blankly before stating, “I know we have Bud Light and Corona, I saw them out there....”
Anyhow, she was not amused that I tossed the beer. I was very thankful that her brother announced, “yeah we need to start supporting businesses that live in the real world.”
And that was the end of that.
I will never buy anything produced by Inbev again.
VP of Marketing acts as if the brand is hers, as if she’s the president/CEO of the division, if not Anheuser-Busch. I googled her to see what her job title is when I saw this claim that she is merely VP of marketing, and discovered that yes, this identification is correct, and yet she also refers to herself as “the first female to lead the largest beer brand in the industry.”
Although in her video she talks as if she was acting to ensure future sales, she thanks her teammates (mostly women) for defending each other as they fought for “their values.” Bud Light should fire them all; their fiduciary responsibility is for sales, not to hijack a billion-dollar brand to promote “their values.”
Ain’t Affirmative Action wonderful.
It's made with rice, so...
It was in decline because it is cheaper to drink tap water. If she really used her imagination she should have rebranded it as Butt Light.
Read the April 8 New York Post article that details the extortion against corporations from the “Human Rights Campaign” which gets millions from george soros.
Alissa sure crashed through the glass bottles and cans with this brilliant nugget of an idea. LOL.
She sounds like the kind of naive, Harvard-”educated” apparatchik who’d be better-suited teaching some lame-ass gender studies course at the local junior college. Perhaps if she’d actually taken the time to drink some of the swill she’s been trying to hustle with its (formerly) loyal customers she might not be in the position where someone has to explain to her what the phrase “screw the pooch” means.
“I would LOVE to be in the CEO’s office this morning.”
This is that “New Coke” moment for diet beer.
Hopefully it’ll be New Coke V2 because with New Coke, the head of marketing for that failed project was promoted because he had experience of getting his ass kicked on the market. And the owner told him Point Blank that he was the most experienced manager he had because he failed so miserably and he knew how to fail so he would probably not fail a second time.
The difference being the New Coke executive who failed was not woke.
Probably a sibling, or I bet she has a close friend that’s one.
