Poll: Donald Trump Leads Ron DeSantis in Florida GOP Primary

Former President Donald Trump leads Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and his other potential competitors in a crowded Republican primary field in Florida, according to a hypothetical poll.

The Emerson College Polling survey published Friday shows that 47 percent of Florida GOP primary voters back Trump in his quest for the nomination. He sits three-percentage points ahead of the Sunshine State’s governor at 44 percent.

“While 90% of Republican voters approve of DeSantis, that does not translate into a firewall of support over the former President for the nomination in their home state,” Emerson College Polling Executive Director Spencer Kimball said.

We have never been closer to World War III than we are today under Joe Biden. A global conflict between nuclear-armed powers would mean death and destruction on a scale unmatched in human history. It would be nuclear Armageddon. NOTHING is more important than avoiding that nightmare. We will avoid it. But we need new leadership.

Every day this proxy battle in Ukraine continues, we risk global war. We must be absolutely clear that our objective is to IMMEDIATELY have a total cessation of hostilities. All shooting has to stop. This is the central issue. We need PEACE without delay.

In addition, there must also be a complete commitment to dismantling the entire globalist neo-con establishment that is perpetually dragging us into endless wars, pretending to fight for freedom and democracy abroad, while they turn us into a third-world country and a third-world dictatorship right here at home. The State Department, the defense bureaucracy, the intelligence services, and all the rest need to be completely overhauled and reconstituted to fire the Deep Staters and put America First. We have to put America First.

Finally, we have to finish the process we began under my Administration of fundamentally reevaluating NATO’s purpose and NATO’s mission. Our foreign policy establishment keeps trying to pull the world into conflict with a nuclear-armed Russia based on the lie that Russia represents our greatest threat. But the greatest threat to Western Civilization today is not Russia. It’s probably, more than anything else, ourselves and some of the horrible, U.S.A. hating people that represent us. It’s the abolition of our national borders. It’s the failure to police our own cities. It’s the destruction of the rule of law from within. It’s the collapse of the nuclear family and fertility rates, like nobody can believe is happening. It’s the Marxists who would have us become a Godless nation worshipping at the altar of race, and gender, and environment. And it’s the globalist class that has made us totally dependent on China and other foreign countries that basically hate us.

These globalists want to squander all of America’s strength, blood and treasure, chasing monsters and phantoms overseas—while keeping us distracted from the havoc they’re creating right here at home. These forces are doing more damage to America than Russia and China could ever have dreamed. Evicting the sick and corrupt establishment is the monumental task for the next president. And I’m the only one who can do it. I’m the only one that can get the job done. I know exactly what has to be done.

Donald Trump 3/16/23

There’s one issue in this campaign, stopping the globalist proxy war. When RdS makes a definitive statement like this on pulling the plug on Uke corruption, I will consider him. Until then, I’m with the peace with honor and safety candidate, DJT.

Pence at 4%. That will drop to less than 1% in time.

What Pence should have said about Trump’s objections to the votes of 2020 is,

“While there are legitimate questions about the integrity of the election which might be deemed worthy of investigations, I don’t have the power to call the election illegitimate. But, investigations should be conducted to insure that the voting was fair and free of fraud.”

Pence deserves to be ignored and made persona-non-grata in republican circles.

I don’t believe the polls saying DeSantis is leading Trump. I don’t believe this either. The polls are ALL OVER the map. Best educated guess (having seen privately conducted poll data) is that it’s roughly 45% Trump, 30% DeSantis, with the rest undecided or supporting someone else. Below 50% means Trump is beatable, but not necessarily likely to be beaten. Any other candidates are Deep-State RINOs who aren’t mad that Trump is allegedly a crook, but mad that he’s a conservative, because any vote it’s really Yes on Trump or No on Trump, and DeSantis is the viable alternative. Those who don’t want Trump OR DeSantis would prefer a Democrat to either.

The Dema call DeSantis an imitator. Trump imitator. I got an email from chuckushumer explaining that.

I live in Florida - DeSantis is the Best. Governor. Ever. and I’m supporting Trump for President in ‘24 and Desantis in ‘28.

Trump needs to finnish what he started...

It’s hard to be a head in a poll when you’re not even running.

12 months ago, you would have expected Trump to be blowing out the entire field in national polls. The fact that he leads by just three points is a very bad sign for him.

Apologies, I see this is a poll of Fla. Even there, Trump should lead by a lot more.

This isn’t national poll. It is FL only and he is already beating Desantis in his home state. And Trump hasn’t even really started on him yet. Check the national polls and Trump is beating everyone badly.

The age factor is huge imo - Trump is nearing 80 and DeSantis is 50 something. Biden might be even older than Trump which explains why his handlers rarely let him do more than wave feebly from afar.
