TRUMP ADVISOR SHARES WHAT THE PRESIDENT IS LOOKING FOR IN VP RUNNING MATE: REPORT
RSBN ^ | March 16, 2023 | Summer Lane

An advisor to President Donald Trump recently revealed to the press that as the 2024 presidential election heats up, the focus for the 45th president’s campaign is to get him in the best position possible to clinch the 2024 Republican nomination.

According to the Associated Press, Trump advisor Jason Miller revealed, “We appreciate all support for President Trump, but the clear focus is on making sure that he wins the Republican nomination and is well-positioned to win the general election in 2024.”

Miller’s comments come amid rampant speculation about who Trump’s 2024 vice presidential running mate will be.

Per the Washington Examiner, Trump advisor Michael Caputo said that the president will “be looking for someone cut from the same cloth he is, not from a different, complementary cloth.”

Some of the most popular names that have been rumored so far are GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R).

In early March, the 2023 CPAC straw poll illustrated Lake’s power with conservative voters, winning 20 percent of GOP voters’ support as a potential vice presidential pick for a Trump 2024 ticket. DeSantis was runner-up in that same poll, earning 14 percent of support for being Trump’s hypothetical running mate.

As reported by RSBN, Lake recently addressed swirling rumors that she could be Trump’s vice presidential pick, responding to a question on Newsmax’s “The Balance” that “that seat” of vice presidency could soon be hers.

“Well, I don’t know that that’s true, what you said about me being in that seat. I’m hoping to be in the governor’s office here in Arizona. But Kamala Harris has been a disaster,” she said.

President Trump has reigned supreme in the polls headed into 2024. Per RSBN, the most recent Premise Data found that the president had a staggering 52 percent support among GOP voters in a 2024 National Republican Primary, while Gov. DeSantis accrued 26 percent in that same poll.

Oh, Jesus, does it really matter?! Trump sucks balls at picking his staff. Whoever he picks will be the focus of his ire and derision within 12 months.

He should select Dominion as his running mate. Just think of all the things he could get done with vote scamming. /sarc/

Seriously, Lake would be a choice I’d vote for.

That would be like Bigfoot Michelle running for POTUS. Hasn’t won anything. That plus the cheating train has passed just like Monica did after a few laughs.

Kari Lake an overrated news reader, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) best left in Florida.

Trump doesn't pick his VP. In our election system, the VP is selected by the party leadership -- which is why you often have President and VP candidates on a ticket who don't like each other.

Trump may wish for whomever he wants, but there's no doubt in my mind that the VP candidate will have to be someone with GOP establishment credentials.

- Ron DeSantis surely has no interest in being anyone's running mate. He's cut out for his own presidential campaign (most likely in 2028, in my humble opinion).

- Kari Lake has no establishment political connections behind her.

- Trump will need a running mate who can appeal to conservative/independent/Republican voters who don't like him.

- Most of the other current and prospective GOP candidates for 2024 are misfits and losers.

If I'm a betting man, I'd say the most likely contender for 2024 VP candidate under Trump -- at this point in time -- is South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem.

Lake is good, she was thrust into politics, not a career politician. If you want power too much you shouldn’t be Trump’s VP. Not sure who else can be trusted. Maybe no one within politics. Nikki Hailey seems like she would be good if Trump was just another politician but the allure to undermine him might prove to great for her. I appreciated the way she got into the race though and didn’t try to be underhanded about it.

Trump was an outsider the first time and he didn’t know DC, so he had to trust those who were already there with the picks they presented to him. He knows better now. He won’t be fooled again.

Lake has not faltered in her support for America First and Donald Trump. She realizes that the elections are rigged and between her team and Trumps team hopefully have come up with an effective plan to stop future steals. It might be a pipe dream but you never know.

The question is, who will work for him, and be willing to allow themselves and their family to take all the arrows that come with the job?

Seriously, Lake would be a choice I’d vote for.

I love her and she's great, but my apprehension is her lack of executive and management experience. She's a very popular local TV journalist.

But I think she may have the intellectual depth to pull it off. The fact she has no government experience is a plus.
