A majority of Americans in a new poll have a positive association with the term “woke,” understanding it to mean “to be informed, educated on, and aware of social injustices.”
The USA Today-Ipsos poll released on Wednesday found that 56 percent agreed with the more positive definition, while 39 percent had a negative association with the word and understood it to mean “to be overly politically correct and police others’ words.”
However, Americans in the poll are divided on whether they consider it an insult to be described as “woke,” with 40 percent calling it an insult and 32 percent calling it a compliment.
Both of these measures break down along party lines, with Republicans more likely than their Democratic counterparts to have a negative understanding of “wokeness” and to consider it an insult.

I see it more as a form of fascism. Wokesters are intolerant of other views. They will try to silence (cancel) anyone who disagrees with them in the slightest.

To me woke means ideologically blinded to the truth.

Phony social injustices. Everyone wants to be a victim today, and for that they need a villain, even if they have to invent one.
Look at the way the question is framed. If you say you disagree, you’re saying you’re uninformed, uneducated, and unaware of social injustices. Whoever drafted the poll framed it so it would produce the result they wanted.

My definition of woke—zombies brainwashed by the leftist mass media and/or education system who want to censor those who disagree with them.
They change the rules daily and then consider you a “hater” if you dare not play along...
In other words, a majority of people gullible enough to not just hang up the phone when a polling company calls...
I call BS.
Not only was this poll created with a specific outcome predetermined, it was underhandedly presented to homeless drug addicts who agreed to answer the poll however the person giving them free drugs requested.
