Kessler revealed former agents claimed Carter was "very short and rude most of the time."

That appears to be the entire story here. No other details. That's it.
The news profession is pitiful.
Fine time to spill.
There was an incident where “man of the people” carried his own suitcase down the stairs of Air Force One. It later came to be known the bag was empty; it was all for “show”.
I’ve heard this for at least 20 years.
Small picture President not built for the executive job and the miserable results in office are testimony to this fact.
I always have thought, from living through his presidency and reading back that he was an intelligent man who rose to a position way over his head. I think if he was short and rude that it was part of him realizing that he and his reported micro-managerial style were not up to his job and he was unwilling or unable to delegate enough to competent staff. Made for a terrible presidency.
Read the entire article, they do go into a few specifics.
Carter was in over his head. I imagine the frustration caused him to be irritable with people. Kamala, anyone?
He tried to kill that little rabbit.
He had me fooled a bit but he was a dim and his Presidency was a disaster. HIs post Presidency revealed to me a bitter person. I read enough about him here on FR to not exactly like him although some here do.
Yep. Im not a Carter fan although I belive he actually loved America and did what he thought was best for the country. He just happened to suck at it. Unlike the Biden and many other presidents who hate America and love globalism.
Why this story now. Just let him die in peace and let it go.
Why do you guys direct FR to MSN?
Why won’t you send us to the actual source?
Its interesting what Secret Service say about those they protect. For the most part, politicians are polite and nice, but the rare ones, like Carter and Hillary for example, are known for being rude and even abusive.
“...his reported micro-managerial style...”
It was reported that he personally controlled the schedule for the White House tennis court.
The former secret service agents went on to allege that the former peanut farmer went as far as telling them and uniformed officers to not greet him as he made his way to the Oval Office.
Even though Carter was a graduate of the Naval Academy, the agents claimed he did not think highly of service members and "talked down to the military, just talked like they didn't know what they were talking about."
One former agent, Cliff Baranowski, claimed that the Georgia native "didn't want military aides to wear uniforms."
Another outspoken former agent, John Piasecky, accused Carter of not speaking to him over the three-and-a-half-year period that he directly worked for the president. He said he only spoke to him to give directions when he drove Carter's limo for seven months.
There are several examples. Did you not read the article before commenting on it?
Kinda my opinion of him as well. Having lived through his disastrous Presidency I have always known of his gross incompetence.
Never realized he was a complete douchebag as well.
I knew an older guy who was on the president’s Secret Service detail.
Me: Who was your favorite president to work for?
Him: That was Ronald Reagan, easily. He was always friendly with us. Here’s just one example. Reagan kept a record of the birthdays of all our children. And on that day he’d convey his birthday wishes.
Me: Who was your least favorite president to work for?
Him (smiling): I’d rather not say.
So I got at least half the story.
And some SS agents should learn to keep their traps shut.
