And let Biden swim nude intentionally exposing himself to his Secret Service detail unimpeded?
BTW, expect a lot worse for Trump regardless.
“When push came to shove (Carter) was a pushover for the Deep State”
Agreed. Carter expanded the reach of Federal power by creating the Departments of Commerce and Energy and then he have the leftists their best gift ever with the Department of Education.
Jimmy Carter is therefore directly responsible for why we have drag queens in schools and for why a generation of children is being sterilized in the name of ‘gender transitioning’.
To wit, this ‘kindly old man’ has facilitated crimes against children and it’s a damned shame whe will die before justice can be carried out.
My dad was friendly with Carter’s personal assistant who painted him as a petty, mean little man. He was not well liked within the White House circle.
He seemed like he was fake in interviews.
sigh...I voted for the man back in 1976 as it was my first presidential election and of course brought up in an FDR household. Age brings enlightenment to the extent that now that I am older, I realize I know nothing...
No, he wasn’t a great president and may not have even been a good president. He gave away the Panama Canal—which I never understood. But, he was a president during a time long past when America was a different country than it is today.
All that aisde, let the man pass in peace—May the Lord embrace him now.
I also recall hearing he personally scheduled others’ games on the WH tennis court.
One of my brothers best friends was in secret service. Never spoke of the presidents he protected. Asked him who his favorite was, that would be Ronald Reagan. Got the impression Carter was not high on his list.
Several quotes from book here ignore the Factcheck source https://www.factcheck.org/2011/06/secret-service-tattletales/
I never liked him from day one, but I hope he Rests In Peace.
All the saps who want to believe that he was "a good man just incompetent" please I would like you to tell me one thing he did that did not hurt the country. Just one.
A incompetent person will do a good thing at least occasionally just by chance.
Carter did nothing but evil in office and continued to do evil after he was kicked out.
What is your point? You’re not supposed to say anything critical about the dead or near-dead in which case there would be no realistic biographies? Ignore all the disasters? The man put himself in a position for which he had no talent and minimal positive accomplishments. Carter was a complete disaster: 1) amnesty for draft dodgers was his first act to poke the families of the VN dead and wounded in the eye; 2) huge gas lines; 3) our “inordinate fear of communism”; 4) remarkably high inflation and unemployment; 5) the Soviets took leave to invade Afghanistan, which we are still paying for. Carter passed himself of as some pious do-gooder who was as “good and decent as the American people”. In reality, he was neither - Kessler’s book detailing His Phoniness came out over a decade ago and there are multiple Secret Service agents quoted by name, no “informed sources” as always used by the WPost. Carter was a four-flushing phony if there ever was one, and only marginally better than the imposter who now occupies the White House in that we have no knowledge of him taking money from communist party led countries.
Mr. Carter served as a Lieutenant in the Navy.
It’s not uncommon for gold band officers to have a somewhat imperial or condenscending attitude toward the enlisted. That, at least was my experience as an enlisted in the Navy.
**From what I have seen , read, and heard Jimmy Carter was a nice Christian man.**
Christian=Christ-like
Jesus Christ didn’t play politics, and didn’t mince words. He told the Pharisees to indeed do what’s right, BUT not to leave the other right things undone.
I have no recollection of Jimmy Carter ever speaking up for marriage being between a man and a woman, or speaking out against abortion or sexual perversion.
Damn, I think my brother and you knew the same guy. Marine served in Nam. My brother knew him when they both were in the 4-H. He wrote my dad down as a reference. Boy was I shocked when a FBI agent came to our house to talk to my dad about him.
I’d agree. I don’t know that much about the man, only the impressions I’ve had over 40 years. But this mostly seems like someone who isn’t real socially adept. Maybe a bit arrogant, but not quite as bad as it might be.
Jimmy Carter facilitated crimes against children.
“It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.”
Luke 17:2
And if you ask me when he finally dies he will spend an eternity suffering for what he did to American children.
Carter is second on my list of worst Presidents (and I am only sorry that the SOB lived long enough to be displaced by the anti-American Halfrican). Among many other things, he let the mullahs take over Iran, and we’re still living with that huge mistake. Multiple tens of thousands worldwide have been murdered by that regime since then, and he’s partially responsible. The world is also now facing the possibility of a nuclear conflict in the Mideast, all because of Iran’s desire to build nukes and dominate the area. He’s also a huge anti-Semite, as his speeches and writings since he left office prove. Now is the PERFECT time to recall what a piece of crap he was and is.
I went to college in DC during the 2nd half of his poor excuse for a Presidency (and, thankfully, the first half of Reagan’s), and I knew someone who had close contact with the Secret Service. He told of what a complete fake Carter was - specifically, he made a big deal out of being a “man of the people” by carrying his own suitcases to Marine One on the WH lawn. Well, the truth is that the real suitcases were driven to a base where they were pre-loaded onto Marine One, and Carter the Fake carried empty suitcases to the chopper for the media and public to see. So much for his “pure Christian heart” - the lying scumbag.
Another story involved his spoiled daughter, Amy. This one was witnessed by the brother of one of my close friends (and I heard it directly from him). Amy used to go for piano lessons in a quiet neighborhood near the Georgetown University campus. Once she was done with the lessons, she liked to go roller skating up and down the street. Well, one day when this was going on, my friend’s brother and one of his roommates (they attended GU Dental School) were sitting on their porch at one end of this street relaxing and drinking a few beers. They had a dog that was tied up with a chain in the front yard, and he was also relaxing (sans beer). Amy came down the street, teased the dog, and the dog tried, in vain, to get to her. Now the dog was all riled-up. Amy evidently found this cruel treatment of an animal to be entertaining (what a great upbringing, no?), as she repeated it 2 more times. Well...come the 3rd repetition, the roommate decided that he had enough of this garbage, and he unhooked the chain - unbeknownst to the dog, Amy and the Secret Service. Down the street comes Amy, and when she got close enough to the dog it lunged...and wasn’t restrained by the chain. My friend’s brother said that everyone, dog included, were so shocked that no one moved for a second, but then the dog took off chasing Amy. The Secret Service caught the dog and nothing much happened...but one of the agents looked directly at the roommate, smiled and gave a thumbs-up sign. Clearly, those guys didn’t much care for the President’s “nukear advisor.”
That’s been known for a while. Jimmy very tightly wound. There are stories about the vein in his head that started throbbing when he was angry.
There was an incident where “man of the people” carried his own suitcase down the stairs of Air Force One. It later came to be known the bag was empty; it was all for “show”.
