Questions about why then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi refused President Trump's offer of National Guard troops to secure the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, are being raised – again – after a government report faulted a number of law enforcement agencies for allowing the riot to develop that day.
Pelosi, and Senate Leader Chuck Schumer, refused Trump's offer of additional security that day – and hundreds of people rioted, some breaking into the Capitol to vandalize it and others walking past security guards who held doors open for them and taking selfies in the building.
The trigger for the riot was the belief that the 2020 presidential election had been corrupted.
A report from Just the News, which has pursued a multitude of reports on the issue, said the Government Accountability Office reported that Capitol Police, FBI and eight other federal agencies gathered intelligence "that extremists were planning to commit violence at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 but failed to adequately adapt security or get threat assessments to key decision-makers and frontline officers."

Not only did the Capitol Police open the doors, they actually dragged in people who resisted.
Bringing in troops would have screwed up the Dung Beetles’ plan for a huge attack on the American people by their “government”. A class action lawsuit against the Feddies needs to be filed against the District of Corruption just like those at the Georgie Porgie Floyd “protest” filed in NYC. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Non-liberal commie RATS should be treated the same way the liberal commie RATS are treated. Each JSixer should be awarded $21,500 for being “kettled” by the FIB and another 20Gs for the way they were treated by the Dung Beetles on Capitol Hill.

perhaps the reason for the “riot” was the fact that the capitol police were firing on protesters indiscriminately... and others provoking and promoting violence.
As president, why did DJT need Pelosi’s approval to station troops in and around DC to protect the capitol?
Pelosi is solely responsible for Jan 6, as she is the head of security of the Capitol and Trump offered twice to supply Federal Troops but she declined. Also, the FBI and or Pelosi had Ray Epps and his cohorts with bull horns encouraging protesters to storm the Capitol. There are numerous vid of this activity.
I think he reached out to both Pelosi and McConnell. Pelosi said no for her chambers. I don’t remember what McConnell said or did.
There’s no mystery.
It was an elaborate and carefully crafted plan to frame Trump and Trump supporters. Directly involved Pelosi, the FBI, Capitol Police and other agencies. It was a criminal conspiracy and the wrong people are in jail.
Add to that, The FBI and the Antifa insurrectionists ginning up an overly enthused patriot base of people easily inspiring them to participate in a mob trespass incident and this was 110% predictable.
So who really caused it, Pelosi allowed it to boil over by not having proper deterrence.

I think the SOTH is responsible for Capitol security not the President. The President suggested/offered, the Speaker turned it down. I always thought it was a separation of powers thing.
