Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis might have shown his hand regarding a potential run for president next year.
DeSantis has been mum about seeking the Republican Party nomination.
Thus far, only two candidates have entered the race with former President Donald Trump. Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley was joined in the primary by anti-woke tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy on Wednesday.
DeSantis is widely considered a contender despite the fact that he has not announced any intention to run.
Trump has preemptively taken on the Florida governor at rallies and in posts on Truth Social. He has also given his potential primary rival a nickname: Ron DeSanctimonious.
But DeSantis has stayed quiet about Trump — until now.
David Smith of The Guardian obtained an advance copy of DeSantis’ upcoming book, “The Courage to Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival.”
The book will hit shelves on Tuesday, and it reveals much about what Florida’s superstar governor thinks about the country’s 45th president.
Surprisingly, as Smith noted on Wednesday, DeSantis offers high praise for Trump, not only for helping him court Florida Republicans in the state’s crowded 2018 primary, but for challenging the D.C. swamp.

Class act.
DeSantis has pretty much taken Trump’s unsolicited abuse with no retaliation.
Behavior generally perceived to be class act.
Analysis: DeSantis won’t challenge Trump. He put a book out now to get his support on the record, make some headlines with it, and secure the goodwill and support of Trump’s supporters should Trump falter for some reason, at which time DeSantis may ... may ... put his hat in the ring. But not if that never happens.
Will Trump read it?
Clever title; looks negative but.....
“DeSantis is widely considered a contender...”
DeSantis is being positively RAMMED DOWN OUR F’N THROATS by a despicable assortment of WEF- connected globalists on BOTH sides of the political aisle, NWO political commentators, and Deep State types present and former.
ALL of that should fairly SCREAM from on high exactly who these smarmy scum absolutely DO NOT WANT, which should — in turn — VERY DIRECTLY connect to your 2024 Presidential Election pick.
We ONLY win if we KICK IT BACK IN THEIR NUTS!
Bush was a “class act”. Left office with about 20% support and handed the country off to someone very far to the left who, but for his class actiness, would never have had a chance. Plenty more examples
Nice comments about DeSantis in the article.
I wish he had declared he wouldn’t run so Trump could
lay off. As long as he doesn’t do that, this one sided
spat will continue.
Whether we like it or not, DeSantis is Trump’s only
major opposition if he (DeSantis) decides to run.
Trump can’t ignore him.
I don’t think that is a good thing for the nation or
either of the two men.
I laud DeSantis for the good things he said about Trump
and have nothing negative here, unless it could be
construed that my above comments were negative toward
him.
The media however is a biased as it ever was. Always
without fail labeling Trump this or that, and very seldom
addressing him as President Trump vs President Carter,
President Clinton, or President Obama, here they address
DeSantis as follows.
“The book will hit shelves on Tuesday, and it reveals much
about what Florida’s superstar governor thinks about the
country’s 45th president.”
Oh he’s a superstar governor. Now back to that mean
spirited Twitter guy.
Can't wait to read it (and pass it on.)
loving the whiners tears....they’re tasty!
Nice comment. I see no need for DeSantis to prematurely withdraw his name from any potential consideration for running later, as the election is so far away, and the world, especially the one surrounding Donald Trump, is quite turbulent.
No one else has declared they are not running for President simply out of fealty to Trump. The potential lineup actually sounds like it will be a who’s who of people who worked in Trump’s administration, which DeSantis notably did not.
There remains a decent possibility that Trump may soon be indicted, if not convicted, and there may even be new evidence presented against him. I am not wishing that, nor predicting it, and if it happens, I think the chances are good that it will be an unfair prosecution, and he will deserve our support. But would that support extend to trying to get someone elected to President from prison? What if he has a health issue, from his age, all those boosters, etc?
As I said, I am not predicting that, nor wishing it, but what if everyone involved, especially those who worked in the Trump admin, all said they were going to support Trump, no matter what, where might that leave us?
There is time for DeSantis to decide, and I believe it should be respected. It may be in all our best interest, after all.
‘Bush was a “class act”.’
BWWAAAAHAHAHA....Are you on drugs?
this book has been in the works for a while ... not an olive branch at all ...
Who cares what this book says?
Yes, DeSantis won’t deviate from the truth even when badly provoked. He’s a rare class act.
He is running, he is already arranging his campaign staff, and he is going with a lot of outsiders, presumably to distance himself from the establishment. But, he could always have a change of heart.
Almost the whole USA except for you. LOL
Those are decent points.
These guys have had seven and a half years to find dirt on
Trump. By November of 2024, it will have been over nine
years that they have broken the law, lied, made up false
documents, wire tapped him even in the White House doing
the nation’s business, slandered him non-stop even after
found innocent, and sworn before the nation that “They
would get him!”
They charged him with being a traitor. They charged
him with getting help from Russia to turn over the
election, which as we all know, if the Democrats accuse
you of something, it’s because they are doing it.
They haven’t formally investigated Clinton at all, she
the one that ran the coup.
This is such B. S.
If anything, DeSantis should call a press conference
with about 100 other people from Capital Hill, and
demand an end to this.
