I used to feel the same way. But, now I look at the Patriot Act, Afghanistan, Iraq, Medicare, and the way our debt has exploded and look at it as a complete failure.

I voted for a team and screwed my country. As they say in Canada…”Surry”

He never defended himself, his administration or the Republican voters. He was a doormat.

W thought he would eventually be loved, or at least accepted, by the Left.

Sorry, loser. Wrong again

I’m not sure America survived the Clinton/Bush/Obama years.

The world will hate him when his role in 911 comes out.

Considering Al Gore would have been President, I am satisfied.

I agree with MSNBC in one sense. My opinion of him dropped tremendously after he left office. While he was in office, I thought he had a mixed record but overall was positive. Now, I think the negative outweighs the positive. I think we wasted a fortune on Iraq that got us nothing.

I didn't vote for GWB in 2004.

By the time November 2004 rolled around, I had determined that GWB was the worst U.S. president since Lyndon Johnson.

FB frenemy is calling Carter our greatest living president. Better, apparently, than the two-term demi-gods Clinton and Obama, I guess.

Nope, not gonna do it. I’m not gonna defend that loser because he’s being criticized by some POS lefties.

Back during W’s time in office, he received a lot of support here on FR. It was disappointing he seldom defended himself, or his supporters, from scurrilous accusations from the Democrats and their media.

I liked Dubya, but that faded some near the end of his second term.

I always had the feeling that he had my "kids'" best interest when they were on active duty.

He lost much of my support when I realized that he was weak on border security, that being my personal biggest issue.

And, he never supported DJT's presidency much. I know that DJT insulted Jeb a lot, that is the most likely reason.

The Patriot Act was the worst assault on America since Pearl Harbor!

After he won a second term, he made a sharp left turn, politically.

Recall in the 2006 election he lost the House and bragged ‘now I have a Congress I can work with.’

He decried that Congress never passed an amnesty bill for him, even though he and his friends across the aisle tried. Three times in his 2nd term, IIRC. He almost got on his first term, but Senator Byrd (yeah, a Democrat) stopped it.

And two endless wars due to changed rules of engagement.

Invasion of Iraq was the 2nd worst foreign policy blunder after Vietnam. It completely destabilized the middle-east, ISIS was born and is as big as ever, today.

Both bushes won by both popular vote and electoral votes. I heard that recently and it struck me as an odd fact. It’s no wonder Jeb’s puddy hurts.

Actually, I enjoyed reading the article. Cohen was specific about the issues he liked or did not like for the presidents he rated.

He made a number of very good points, as well as others I disagree with. He did not descend into irrational name calling, and I appreciated that.

I won’t even give him that. Right after 9/11 George W. Bush decided to “nation-build” in Afghanistan instead of carrying out a quick, sharp punitive mission.

Then it got worse. He invaded Iraq while Afghanistan was still simmering. We were no longer undeniably the good guys. And the Muslims were no longer undeniably the bad guys (for many people, anyway).

It would like if FDR decided to invade neutral Spain in the middle of fighting Germany and Japan. And then got all bogged down.

I will never forgive Bush II for all the misery he caused. And for what? For nothing.
