The layoffs sweeping corporate America are now claiming one of their main casualties — the bloated and counterproductive sector of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) professionals, new research shows.
As the tech industry laid off tens of thousands of workers last summer, DEI teams shed about a third of their staff, according to data compiled by Revelio Labs. Other departments were only losing a fifth at the same time.
Axing 'diversity' professionals extends beyond the tech sector. Retail giant Target led the way, losing 20 DEI staffers in 2022, researchers said. Capital One, Amazon, Applebee's, and Wells Fargo rounded out the top five.
The cuts raise tough questions for 'Diversity Officers,' who have struggled to stay relevant in business, making lackluster gains despite generous budgets, and as memories of George Floyd's murder and the anti-racism protests it sparked recede.
While DEI workers say they bring more black, brown, female and queer talent into firms and raise morale across the board, critics have labeled the roles a virtue-signaling exercise that fosters backlash discrimination against straight, white men.
As well as offering jobs to underrepresented groups, DEI teams also end up butting heads with established employees with their compulsory training in tackling racial bias, microaggressions and even 'white privilege'.
DailyMail.com spoke with laid-off DEI workers, including a California woman who said her views on social issues made her 'outspoken' in meetings, and another in Georgia who noted that blockbuster DEI schemes often failed to achieve their goals.
Will Hild, director of Consumers' Research, a conservative policy group, said he was not 'surprised to see corporations finally tire of paying the salaries of woke activists who harass colleagues in the name of social governance.'
'These departments are products of a bloated corporate culture adding limited value to their businesses

Elon Musk reportedly ‘brushed aside’ diversity goals when he halved Twitter’s 7,500 workforce after completing his takeover deal of the social media firm in October. Among those to exit was its Chief People and Diversity Officer, Dalana Brand.
What is happening is that there are now DEI Companies, which companies now outsource to, so that doesn’t mean necessarily that the indoctrination is going away, companies are just going to be smarter as to how they spend their money on it.
We can only hope this is true. Communism is deeply entrenched in the vast majority of large companies.
Maybe they "struggle to stay relevant" because they are not. Ya think?
I wish we could hear Rush’s comments on this.
Communism is deeply entrenched in the vast majority of our schools.
That scares me more.
Hearing this gives me the sads.......... perhaps they should learn to code. After all, if even “redneck caveman” coal miners can do it, I would imagine these “enlightened”, “edumacted”, virtuous rays of sunshine would pick up coding in a heartbeat!

Sometimes I go back and listen to his old shows and I find that the comments he made back then apply now.
On September 24, 1965 President Lyndon B. Johnson issued Executive Order 11246, prohibiting employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, and national origin by those organizations receiving federal contracts and subcontracts.
The corporate world, military and government officials had the world change on them basically overnight after Affirmative Action became the rule of America.
Fire them with extreme prejudice.

“..including a California woman who said her views on social issues made her ‘outspoken’ in meetings..”
I know the type. They generally don’t have long lives.
The price of stupidity is high.
Times must be a LOT tougher than the “mainstream” media admit if Big Tech is laying off political commissars lol...
As long as straight white males are represented in an equal way, have at it. Negates their argument so you’re back where you started from and someone made money from it.
Probably just going to change the name, easier to hide it that way.
I have seen up close & PERSONAL how “THE MORALE ACROSS THE BOARD” is NOT raised with all these hiring efforts.
I QUIT A GOOD JOB after 2 AA hires were contaminating the accounting departments I worked in.
