The Memphis Police Department is currently investigating rumors regarding a possible connection between Tyre Nichols and the ex-wife or ex-girlfriend of one of the Memphis cops arrested and charged in Nichols' death.
On Wednesday morning, Newsweek asked the Shelby County district attorney's office if it is investigating possible rumors connecting Nichols to the ex-girlfriend or ex-wife of former Memphis cop Demetrius Haley. Additionally, Newsweek asked about rumors that Haley sent photos of Nichols to his ex-wife following the violent arrest of the 29-year-old Black man.
"All of this is still under investigation. Those are the things, along with the participation of others, that [are] now the subject of our investigation," a spokesperson for the Shelby County district attorney told Newsweek in response.
Erica Williams, the director of communications at the Shelby County district attorney's office, clarified to Newsweek that rumors about Nichols having a connection to the woman have not been "confirmed.
"We know that there have been questions about other officers and Fire Department personnel on the scene, persons remotely operating cameras, the potential of false reporting, among other things. We are now at the stage of our investigation where we are looking into all of these matters," Williams told Newsweek.
"At this time none of those accusations are confirmed. However, nothing is off the table as this is a very active investigation—and still early in the investigation," Williams added.

I thought outload a few days ago and wondered why they targeted this guy a beatdown. They went after him like he just killed all their mothers.

If it was an ex why would anyone care? Unless she was an ex because of Tyre.
But it’s not a good idea to spend the rest of your life in prison over a lover.
Why did the other guys help?
It shouldn’t take long to substantiate by checking their phones for images and texts.
Did they kill her too?

If the woman leaves you for another man, it’s pointless to
do something to the guy. If it wasn’t him, it would have
been another. And who knows, maybe there was another,
and another, and another...
Women like that prove their worth when they do this, and
your future freedom certainly is a hell of a lot more
important than this fools errand.
Doing something to her? Why bother. She isn’t worth it.
There are plenty of women out there in search of decent
guys. Put your effort into developing a relationship
with one of them.
There’s a Sinefeld skit that involves a woman breaking
up with him.
She says, “I’m sorry but I just can’t do this anymore.”
He says, “Oh, okay.”
She looks bewildered.
He says, “Things level out for me. I’ll meet someone else.”
She’s now looking mortified.
He says, “Well, bye. Good luck to you.”
He leaves the restaurant singing, “She’ll be comin’ round
the mountain when she comes...”
This is a very good time to reveal that they meant nothing
to you in the first place. And if they didn’t care for
you, what better way to part ways.
Tyre’s family has already denied this rumor.
Yeah, all of them are happily eager to serve serious time for beating someone else’s enemy to death on camera.
They see themselves as warriors, a band of brothers, you always have your buddy's back.
They are none of those things.
They are civilians who are suppose to be following the law.

As a woman said very early in the OJ Simpson story: “Did the news really mean OJ’s wife or his ex-wife? If she’s his ex-wife then it is absolutely not his business what she does or who she sees.”
The violence of OJ was unleashed by his possessive psychotic jealousy. A low IQ, low threshold for angry excitability combined with a powerful muscular body.
When the police spokesman said at an early press conference that the slashing was so severe that the woman’s head was nearly severed he was criticized for “overplaying” his hand. He thought he would give such sickening details sparingly so as not to upset people, the unwashed American people made gory jokes and laughed night and day over the slashings.
After decades of Jerry Springer, Maury and Judge Judy shows,
with howling audiences, any revelations of ex wives and jealousy will be quickly accepted.
Why?
I mean, what are they going to do with that?
Of interest.
If that proves to be true, the DA can tune it up to Murder in the First Degree.
