A Florida federal judge...sanctioned former President Donald Trump and his lead attorney Alina Habba nearly $1 million in Trump's racketeering lawsuit against Hillary Clinton for what the judge called a "pattern of misuse of the courts."
In a scathing order, U.S. District Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks said Trump and Habba... are jointly liable for $937,989.39 in attorney fees and costs of the 31 defendants... which claimed that Clinton conspired with the Democratic National Committee and others to "weave a false narrative" that Trump colluded with Russians..."
Judge Middlebrooks said the lawsuit "should never have been filed" and was brought simply to "harass and punish, for fundraising and to advance a political agenda."
"Mr. Trump is a prolific and sophisticated litigant who is repeatedly using the courts to seek revenge on political adversaries," the judge said. "He is the mastermind of strategic abuse of the judicial process, and he cannot be seen as a litigant blindly following the advice of a lawyer. He knew full well the impact of his actions."
...Judge Middlebrooks looked to other recent lawsuits filed by Trump against the members of the Pulitzer Prize Board over a 2018 reporting award for the New York Times and the Washington Post; against New York Attorney General Letitia James over her lawsuit against Trump's company; against Twitter for banning him from the social media platform; and against CNN for alleged defamation in its coverage of Trump.
The judge specified that the sanctions in this case are not being imposed for those other lawsuits, but the "widespread and persistent conduct" in those actions demonstrates why deterrence is necessary...
"Frivolous lawsuits should not be used as a vehicle for fundraising or fodder for rallies or social media... Mr. Trump is using the courts as a stage set for political theater and grievance..."

This is civil, not legal, so whats the appeals process? (I presume if there is an appeals process, Trump will appeal)
Clinton nominee....................
Because he was appointed by her husband, Bill Clinton.
a “pattern of misuse of the courts.” ????
That belongs to the democrats.
That won’t go very far. That is abuse of power on the part of the idiot judge.
it is corrupt and political judges like this that will be a big factor in causing another civil war — and they will not like the results.
Dem Activist Judge?
Corrupt pig. Should have recused himself. Dems never do.
Trump should sue his ass too.
No offense but in the past some said “well, it’s only against Alex Jones” and now the evil is expanding.
The Trump meme said he was the guard holding off the woke mob who had us as the real target.
Judge Middlebrooks was appointed by BJ Clinton. Apparently all photos of him have been scrubbed from the internet, and there isn’t much about his legal expertise. So, it appears he’s one of those faceless and obscure Clinton nominees. He’s in his 70s, so he may be retiring soon. But, that just means Biden gets to nominate his successor, and the Dim-controlled Senate will approve that successor. So, really, not much will change.
We need a GOP president and a GOP-controlled Senate.
So, now it’s a crime to sue somebody you think has defamed you? Do we now assume that everyone who loses a case was acting in bad faith and is liable to pay the legal expenses of the other side? This judge is a smelly POS.
misuse of the court is SOP for the democrats and my bet is that this “judge” has never made such a ruling against any suit by a democrat.
Keeping a list.
Checking it twice.
The judge is a fascist.
RINOs disagree.
Activist Judicicary
She paid for the false Steele document, didn’t she? I thought that was a proven.
Precisely.
Sanctioned for truthful statements made in a lawsuit and a pat on the head and a million$ stint on CNN for all of the false claims made by democrap lawyers against PDJT.
I can pretty easily guess the evidence this judge deemed inadmissible to the suit.
