A former Georgia police officer who was investigated for a religious social media post that claimed "there's no such thing" as gay marriage said he felt pressured to resign after he was told he could be fired for sharing his beliefs.
Jacob Kersey, 19, who quit the Port Wentworth Police Department earlier this month, told Fox News Digital that he was placed on paid administrative leave Jan. 4 after he refused to remove the Facebook post he made regarding his Christian belief about marriage.
"God designed marriage," Kersey wrote in the post that was flagged by his superiors following "an anonymous complaint," according to a Jan. 13 letter of notification first reported by the Daily Signal and provided to Fox News Digital. "Marriage refers to Christ and the church. That's why there's no such thing as homosexual marriage."

This is a lawsuit.
He’s right though. Gay marriage was invented just because oligarchs hate normal people. It was forced on the American population as a form of ritual humiliation .
Does he believe that non-Christian marriages exist?
That was my first thought. I read the whole article and he is very articulate, obviously mature for his age. But even so, do we want any 19 y/o cops?
I must admit I'm not familiar with Georgia Laws and Regulations on Police employment, however I read the article, and Kersey joined the Police Force because Police Officers were model citizens when they responded and helped his family with domestic issues several times when he was a child.
He wanted to be like Police Officers, so he made it his goal, he met the requirements and was hired.
His posting on Facebook was not in his capacity as a police officer. The government official who suspended him very well may have violated his civil rights under the US constitution and the Georgia state constitution. The government official should be sued personally for damages and the city that employed him should also be named.
The taxpayers are on the hook.
The tradition of not including gay relationships in the concept of marriage is far bigger than Christianity. It was about ubiquitous through most of human history.
The question is if the government should be able to force him to expand the traditional definition of the word "marriage" or allow him to continue to make the classical universal distinction.
It is the government enforcing New Speak where one must abandon the old more expressive language and adopt the government's own so that distinctions that the government does not want people to make are more difficult.
I believe so, if Kersey wishes.

The lack of supervision as well as the need for him to exercise judgment on his own.
A 19-year-old rifleman in close contact with his fellow grunts and under the supervision of an NCO is not quite the same thing.
It's not simply a question of maturity; a 19-year-old could easily miss something that might end up getting him killed.
