Former CIA Moscow station chief calls out Biden for failing to explain Ukraine strategy

Longtime CIA officer and former Moscow station chief Dan Hoffman called out President Joe Biden for not being transparent about the role of the United States in the war in Ukraine.

"The president needs to take a page out of President Reagan's book or FDR's book or JFK — somebody — and explain to us what's going on and why it matters to us," Hoffman said on the John Solomon Reports podcast.

The U.S. announced this week that it would be sending three dozen tanks to the Ukrainians ahead of an expected Russian offensive. The 31 M1A1 Abrams tanks will equal roughly an entire Ukrainian battalion of vehicles, according to a recent report.

Other international allies that have been supporting Ukraine financially include the EU, the United Kingdom and Germany. German Chancellor Olaf Schulz is prepping to announce that Berlin will send a group of Leopard 2 tanks to the country.

Concerned that Americans don't seem to really understand their role in the Ukraine war and how it benefits the United States, Hoffman is calling for President Biden to spell it out.

"He's got to explain to the American people why this is in the U.S. national interest to help Ukraine defend themselves from a nuclear-armed state mounting an imperial land grab," he said. "That's what this is all about."

The upcoming State of the Union address would be a good occasion for Biden to clear things up, according to the CIA officer.

"President Biden does need to speak to the American people, and there's no better day than maybe on February 7 — the State of the Union address," he suggested. "That would be a good time to do it."

Former CIA Moscow station chief calls out Biden for failing to explain Ukraine strategy

Two problems.

One: the United States doesn't have a Ukraine Strategy, they have Ukraine Nazi Corruption.

Two: the only President who properly addressed the American People in the manner necessary about the Policy necessary, was Ronald Reagan.

No Democrat was ever an honest partner with the American People.

> i detest biden more than anyone can possibly imagine, well actually, most of ya’ll can imagine ... BUT one does NOT publicly announce your strategy when at war, especially a proxy war ...

could it be just a botched title (due to overzealous editing)?

...there has to be something bigger when both political parties are in near 100% agreement that risking a potential war with Russia is in the national interest of the USA.

This is a war that helps 'elites' more than citizens - but that's often the case with wars, isn't it?

That said, you're point is interesting srmanuel.

So what's your take on why both political parties and the Europeans are in on this - knowing we're also uniting our enemies against us... Iran's helping, China - - only a matter of time before North Korea jumps in... It's got to be more than Hillary and the left feeling betrayed by Putin... What's your best guess?

There is no ‘strategy’, just an agenda.

If you follow the belief that once someone is “sheep-dipped,” they stay “sheep-dipped” forever - what Dan Hoffman is doing is letting the cat out of the bag that Americans need to be prepped for the idea that THEIR sons and daughters will soon be fighting and dying in Eastern Ukraine.

“There is absolutely nothing is this disgusting debacle for Americans.”

There’s always a possibility that Russia or one of their allies like Iran or North Korea will strike out at their opposition in WWIII. Of course they know exactly who is the ring leader of this war and, whether imbecile Joe Biden broadcasts the lies of the globalists or not, they could be persuaded to give in to China’s pressure to go ahead and push the button.

The globalists would celebrate, as the world will then be prepared for the new order where, as WEF just championed, China is a role model for all the world.

I’m not sure there is a single one reason why the west is risking a war with Russia over Ukraine, all I know is it’s insane.

Besides the reasons you I have raised; it could be old cold War veterans who detest Russia see a chance to punish them.

It could be some people are legitimately scared about the idea if you don’t stop Russia now, they will spread revolution to the Baltic States, Poland, potentially making the war much larger.

It could be similar to WW I, when Archduke Ferdinand was assassinated, previous bad blood between countries led to a series of miscalculations where allies of both sides began to declare war on each other and grew a relatively minor issue into a World War, once momentum toward war got going it was nearly impossible to stop.

Think about it, do you think Biden or anyone in his administration is going to stand up and say, the idea of going to war with Russia over Ukraine is insane and needs to stop, we should insist on a cease fire and insist on a negotiated settlement.

I fear the momentum has gotten to a point that neither side is willing to back down, which is really dangerous.

I’ve read similar articles on this topic. When the children are in charge at the behest of the Globalists, Wokester’s don’t listen to logic. The Woke have purged the American Military while at the same time biting off more than the Globalists can chew with Russia.

This is one of my concerns too... Because these current choices seem insane - we both know we're missing some weird critical point of betrayal...

Looking back at my part in those conflicts, it appears that the Political Military Industrial Complex created markets and created Customer States, err ah, countries on the US side. In VN we ensured Thailand was firmly in the US camp. Afghanistan ensured our effective exit strategy from the ME since no one trusts us (US) anymore.

Biden has explained Ukraine PERFECTLY WELL, in fact no worse than the Neocons explained Serbia, Libya, Syria, Egypt...

Come to think of it, why did Biden say we’re fighting Russia there? Something about preventing Ukraine from being diced up, as we did in Serbia, perhaps?

That’s what Stolen Elections mean - but wow, does it not EXCITE some here, the prospect of exchanging cities with Russia!!!

What I worry about besides the war is how the USA gets drawn into the war and the public is behind it.

Prior to December 7, 1941 most Americans were against any involvement in the war in Europe and didn’t know Japan was even a threat.

On December 8, 1941, most Americans had done a 180-degree change and now wanted to fight because we were legitimately attacked.

I would not put anything past people within our current government setting up a false flag or some other situation where a lot of Americans get killed which will be blamed on Russia ensuring Americans are angry enough to support a war.

These threads are NO FUN without the Neocon Supporters calling for WORLD WAR 3 with Russia.

Why are they so quiet now? Perhaps they feel they’ve accomplished that goal?

I've told my 6 that I do not see any compelling US national interest in dying in Ukraine - and I will support them no matter what they decide, if this continues to unfold.
