It could be similar to WW I, when Archduke Ferdinand was assassinated, previous bad blood between countries led to a series of miscalculations where allies of both sides began to declare war on each other and grew a relatively minor issue into a World War, once momentum toward war got going it was nearly impossible to stop.

This is one of my concerns too... Because these current choices seem insane - we both know we're missing some weird critical point of betrayal...

What I worry about besides the war is how the USA gets drawn into the war and the public is behind it.

Prior to December 7, 1941 most Americans were against any involvement in the war in Europe and didn’t know Japan was even a threat.

On December 8, 1941, most Americans had done a 180-degree change and now wanted to fight because we were legitimately attacked.

I would not put anything past people within our current government setting up a false flag or some other situation where a lot of Americans get killed which will be blamed on Russia ensuring Americans are angry enough to support a war.
