The Premise Data poll conducted between January 19-23 found that 59 percent of U.S. adult participants who view themselves as Republicans back Trump in his bid for the GOP presidential nomination, more than doubling the support of his nearest competitor, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), at 24 percent.
No other potential candidate reached double-digit support. Former Vice President Mike Pence landed in third place at eight percent, followed by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley with two percent of the response each. One percent of poll participants back Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC).
Premise Data also gauged a hypothetical general match-up between Trump and President Joe Biden among 2,288 U.S. adults, finding they are in a dead heat at 50 percent of support apiece. A Biden versus DeSantis general election also yielded a 50-50 split among the same sample.
Another survey released by Emerson College Polling on Tuesday also showed Trump dominating the GOP primary field and holding a three-point lead over Biden among registered voters at 44 percent to 41 percent, as Breitbart news reported. Trump’s lead over Biden in that poll marked a surge since a November survey from the polling outfit, in which 45 percent of respondents backed Biden and 41 percent supported Trump.
This current poll from Premise data also examined what a Democrat primary field would look like if the 80-year-old Biden, whose approval rating registered at 35 percent, does not seek a second term. Vice President Kamala Harris leads the pack in that scenario, with 33 percent of support among the 987 U.S. adults who said they were Democrats.

He’s trump, he’s trump, he’s trump.
he’s in their heads....
If Ron runs, he has my vote. I will support any GOP nominee.
If Ron runs, he has my vote. I will support any GOP nominee.
I never heard of the Premier Data Poll until I read this. What is its’ believability?
I just watched Gutfeld from last night and Pompeo was one of the guests.
He hinted at running in 2024, but he’s not even on this poll of “can’t compete with Donald”.
Pathetic. Give it up, Mike, before you start and embarrass yourself!
I think a lot of conservative Trump supporters believe Trump was screwed by the Deep State and the DNCMedia, and rather than just give up to that as fate, support his comeback and the Deep State’s punishment and the DNCMedia’s financial ruin.
At least I do.
Without that, we’re permanently screwed.
If fraud ruled the day in the 2020 and 2022 election cycles, why wouldn’t it in 2024?
i back trump... he has the animus to take out the deep state...
Trump lives in these people’s minds free of charge.
Trump 2024! Finish the drill!! Save America!!
I think Pompeo is what the country needs. I think he has both knowledge and wisdom. DeSantis would be a great VP.
Wake me in 2024, a lot can happen between now and then. I’ll keep my powder dry for now.
I'm on the same trajectory, my good FRiend, and so hoping that Ron runs. (The tea leaves tell me that he will.)
I can’t see supporting anyone outside of DeSantis or Trump.
Pretty convincing poll.
But do note, e.g., some may be overrepresented. Notably, conservative South is heavily represented here.
Of course, I also see many Rep stating they are not registered. In fact, one part states some 25% are not registered!
Sadly, seems far too many are commie traitors. I hardly see any demographic that is majority conservative.
Absolutely word for word!
Your concern is real and valid. What can we do proactively starting now, to improve the situation and level the playing field again. And I include ballot harvesting etc ourselves to the nth degree needed.
Whenever I see these stories, I think of the photo of Trump with a wide smile, and the caption: “Miss me yet?”
NO politician including Trump is going to save you.
Only you can do that, and that’s the scary part.
It is fine that Pubbie supports Trump. Just be sure that any poll, article, remark that supports Trump he will find and post.
