Sen. Dianne Feinstein Introduces Bill to Ban 205 ‘Assault Weapons’

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) introduced legislation Monday to ban “205 military-style assault weapons by name” and prohibit transfer of “high capacity” magazines.

Feinstein cited the January 21, 2023, Monterey Park shooting as the impetus for the reintroduction of the “assault weapons” ban.

She said, “We were tragically reminded this weekend of the deadly nature of assault weapons when a shooter used one to kill 11 people and injure 9 more at a Lunar New Year celebration in California.”

And to think, from 1962 till 1984 the anti-gun radicals “Only wanted to ban handguns! Rifles will not be affected!”

Like the Clinton joke of a ban the companies simply changed the names, removed the flash suppressor, took off the bayonet lug, made the collapsible stock solid and added a ten round magazine. And the same firearms were for sale all through the ban as a target rifle.

Millions of army surplus 20 and 30 round magazines were still legal for sale, and if you knew where to look you could find 30 round magazines stamped “For Police Use Only” still for sale all through the ban.

The Ruger mini-14 was still for sale but with a 10 round magazine.

Killings that took place with 10rd or less magazines, from what I have found were...

It appears shooters have found out to just carry more 10 round magazines.
