you don’t believe in ‘involuntary manslaughter’?

That’s what it is called when you don’t do your job and it kills someone.

What part are you not seeing?

True conservatives will refrain from projecting Alec Baldwin guilty simply because we rightly find his politics repugnant.

True conservatives will examine the abundance of evidence that has already been made public and feel free to voice their opinion about guilt or innocence regardless of politics while respecting the right of the judge or jury to render its own decision. Involuntary negligence is an appropriate charge for which he should be found guilty. Whether that's the final outcome remains to be seen, of course.

The charges also include a provision that could result in a mandatory five years in jail because the offense was committed with a gun.

Now that's a little more serious. It screams "plea deal" and I'll bet the phone started buzzing in his attorney's hand the second it was announced. Personally I'd add another five years for Being A Liberal Jerk. If it isn't illegal it ought to be.

Different states call them different things, I guess. This sounds like a negligent homicide charge.

He’ll get fines and serve a few years of unsupervised probation.

My guess is he never sets foot in NM again.

...takes any plea deal, that will be used against him in civil court by the families suing the production.

He has already settled with her family, which was obviously the big one. I don't know the status of the case with the other guy he shot.

Ironic consequence of his making money off of Hollywood’s glorification of sanitized gun violence.

Must have had a shoulder thing that goes up. You know that’s what makes gun deadly.

There were reports that they were using these guns to shoot targets. So there are real guns and live ammo on the set. Is that common? I can’t believe it is. And if not, it’s reckless, negligent behavior. If Baldwin has responsibility for the set and he pulled the trigger while pointing the gun at someone (again, negligence), I have to believe he’s going to be in a world of hurt.

Baldwin’s crime is exactly like so many recent mass murders. Baldwin murdered that woman for the purpose of demonizing law abiding gun owners.

It was premeditated murder.

No jail time. Suspended sentence and hefty reparations to the families involved. IMHO

Baldwin is getting away with negligent homicide.

Involuntary manslaughter, which is the charge against him, is a more serious charge than negligent homicide.

We have to remember that back when this happened we had prominent actors to a man saying a) When you are handed a gun YOU c heck it YOURSELF And b) When you are firing the gun in scene you NEVER actually aim at a person. Baldwin tossed out and violated every industry safety rule .

Great point..& can’t remember but was him pointing gun part of script? Why was he aiming at her?

Anything I can do to break this prick permanently, I'm going to do it. Fair. Play. Every inch of this is karma.

"Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun while filming a scene in New Mexico, causing the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.

The Sheriff’s office said in a statement that Hutchins and Souza “were shot when a prop firearm was discharged by Alec Baldwin, 68, producer and actor.”

The Sheriff’s office is referring to this incident as a shooting investigation,” Sheriff’s spokesman Juan Rios said. “That detail will be addressed by detectives as they work their case.” The Sheriff’s office did say that the shooting occurred “during filming of a scene.”

"The Sheriff's Department has confirmed it was Baldwin who pulled the trigger during the gun accident. 42-year-old director of photography Halyna Hutchins died from her injuries."

"As we've reported, Alec and co. were rehearsing for a shoot-out scene inside a church. Alec, the lead, was using a .45 Colt revolver. Baldwin reportedly said, "So, I guess I'm gonna take this out, pull it out and go, 'Bang!'" -- at which point, Baldwin actually carried out the gesture and fired.

It’s about time. While no sane, rational person thinks this is anything other than a tragic accident, it is still criminal negligence.

Any one of us would have been in jail 6 months ago.

True conservatives will refrain from projecting Alec Baldwin guilty simply because we rightly find his politics repugnant.

And people who live in reality world will know that when you aim any gun at another human and pull the trigger that there is a major chance that person will die.

And it is all your own fault.

It was murder.

Shooter's own big mouth got him to this point. He could not grok the legal implications of the cross-complaint, wherein Shooter tacitly acknowledged he pulled the trigger, then explicitly denied doing so to Steponallofus on ABC News:

"The trigger wasn't pulled. I didn't pull the trigger"

"Accident"

That word does not mean what you seem to think it does.
