Connecticut Democrats are working to lower the physical fitness requirements for female firefighters, saying that less onerous standards will make fire departments "more diverse."
A law introduced earlier this month in the Connecticut State Assembly would let women skip the Candidate Physical Ability Test, a timed gauntlet used by fire departments across the country. The test, which only 10 to 15 percent of women pass, requires candidates to complete intense physical tasks while wearing a 50 pound vest. It’s designed to simulate the experience of navigating a fire in heavy gear—and to weed out those unable to do so.
The law, introduced by five Democratic lawmakers, would offer women an alternative test based on "revised physical standards," with the goal of ensuring that "additional female candidates" qualify for firefighter positions, text from the bill states.

a much easier solution is simply to have half the men identify as women and POOF equality!

Only hire women for cops and firefighter. Do it.
The biggest downside to that is, Connecticut has some pretty restrictive gun laws so it isn’t easy for folks to be able to defend themselves. But, it is possible, actually.
The glaring issue is, the folks that bring this sh*t up, get it passed and enact it, will NEVER take responsibility for the disaster that will come.
They’ll sling 2 tons of poo against the wall and expect someone else to figure it out. And when that happens, their response is, Who me? I’m responsible? Nah.

OK, I can kind of understand the desire to have more women police officers. Women perceive things differently than men and women may offer valuable insights to defuse a tense situation. On the other hand, when things get physical, most women are definitely at disadvantage.
That said, what special insights do women bring to fighting a fire? Do fires respond differently to women than men? Can a 110 pound woman drag my unconscious fat self from out of a fire? This is just plain stupid, but alas, it might not be the stupidest thing offered by dems today.
And unless they hire a biologist, how can they tell who is female?

How is this insane? Our Armed Forces have dumbed down fitness requirements for females for the last several decades.
No, have them declare they identify as women and will sue if they are treated differently.
