CBS broke the bombshell news that President Biden had stored a trove of government documents, including some two-dozen classified documents, in a private office in Washington that Biden used as part of his think tank relationship with the University of Pennsylvania, where he was an honorary professor from 2017 to 2019.
“The documents were discovered when the President’s personal attorneys were packing files housed in a locked closet to prepare to vacate office space,” Richard Sauber, special counsel to President Biden, said in a statement, adding, “The President periodically used this space from mid-2017 until the start of the 2020 campaign. On the day of this discovery, November 2, 2022, the White House Counsel’s Office notified the National Archives.”

For example: Oh looky here what we found, this proves Obama didnt order the installation of Zelensky
Yep, completely different fruit indeed.
Who had access to the office at the Penn/Biden ‘Think Tank’ for the years the classified documents were kept in a ‘locked closet’? (We know that the Secret Service controlled access to Mar a Lago.)
What authority did VP Biden have to possess and retain classified documents? (We know that as President, Trump had authority to access and for that matter declassify any document).
And interestingly, why did all this come out after the November election, as opposed to when the stash was found?
But we have been told that Trump is a ‘thief and a liar’ and Biden gets a pass because he isn’t. (Biden not a liar??) We have been also told that even looking at this is just the Hillary e-mails redux and not worth any news coverage.
The article argues that since the Archives weren’t looking for Biden’s documents then it’s not a violation of the rules. What’s the point in having rules if whether they are violated or not is a matter of discretion for the people tasked with enforcing them?
I agree. Yet the article says the opposite.
Welcome to the White House, President Harris.
“Chain of custody: Recovered papers were not in Biden’s continuous possession. Trump’s documents were in his continuous possession.”
If Biden did not maintain continuous possession of these documents, then theoretically we have no idea who had access to, read or copied them. That seems like recklessness right there.
“Cooperation: Biden’s lawyers found the documents and alerted the National Archives.”
Biden’s lawyers notified the National Archives after these documents had been missing for five years. Why did no one from the Biden administration ever notify the appropriate authorities that they had these documents during the time they were removed from the White House to the time they were found in an office closet ??
Darn. I thought it was going to be a completely even-handed piece!
Ugh The Hill is just trash move on.
They are not legal or illegal depending on whether the National Archives are looking for them.
Count on The Hill to Shill.
Bull Shit...one SCI document can sink the whole USA....
I’m not buying that Harris BS. NOTHING will happen with Xiden, period. Leftist Senate and MSM will ensure that.
The only thing we can hope to succeed with is to keep Xiden from running in 2024 because he’s incompetent, senile, demented, a pervert pedophile, IMO. To that end, implementing as many HOUSE panels on hounding him until he has to make the decision NOT to run is the operative here.
Given Xiden is forced to bow out for 2024, Harris won’t be an option and the DNC knows that and will offer up some other more palatable leftist they think can win.
How come no one has asked, “Who and how many people had keys to this locked closet?” I bet the number is much larger than one and I doubt everyone who did had secret clearance.
You can bet the paper shredder at the Biden residence has been going non-stop.
Yep!
No, I realize that. Didn’t mean to suggest that it was, just that in the left’s minds, it’s ok if as long as the archives aren’t looking for them. There will be a lot of people that will use that as justification.
Ho yes, big difference.
One by a Republican, and one by a Democrat, so no comparison (see Tagline).
Also, Trump kept classified documents in a safe; Biden kept classified document in a cardboard box. And Mrs. Bill Clinton kept classified documents on an unsecure server for all the world to look at.
And the media reversed the two.
Try. Try hard. Unnnngh! Uuuuuuuuungh!
De⋔ voters don't need "palatable", they just need to be told who's been selected to pose as their savior.
