A Texas grand jury will decide whether or not criminal charges should be brought against a customer who shot and killed a robber in a Houston taqueria last week.
Eric Eugene Washington, 30, died after being shot nine times - with one bullet hitting him execution-style in the head - by a vigilante customer who was said to be 'protecting everyone' in the Texas restaurant.
It can now be revealed that Washington already had a lengthy rap sheet. He was already on bond for domestic violence for attacking his girlfriend during the ambush - and he previously spent six years in jail for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
The customer at Ranchito 4 Taqueria has been hailed a hero after turning his weapon upon a would-be robber - who strolled into the local joint, pointed a fake gun at customers and demanded they fork over cash.
The 46-year-old customer, believed to be Hispanic and left the scene in a dusty pickup truck, has not yet been identified because he is not under arrest. Authorities say he is cooperating with detectives - and will now decide if he'll face charges.
The customer, who is seen in the clip shooting as the robber seems to head towards the door, was 'traumatized' and 'feared for his life' during the ordeal, his lawyer said.
He added that killing someone 'will burden him for the rest of his life' - but he did pull the trigger to 'protect everyone in the restaurant.'
There were around 10 customers eating in the restaurant when Washington entered, wearing a black ski mask and gloves, and started to ambush and rob the diners.

I think it was the shot after the threat has passed that will get him in trouble.
If I was on the GJ, I wouldn’t indict him.
“died after being shot nine times - with one bullet hitting him execution-style in the head - by a vigilante customer who was said to be ‘protecting everyone’ in the Texas restaurant.”
Wow no bias there.....sheesh
If the justus system won’t provide justice, it will be provided via other avenues.
i had the same thoughts. the execution shot will get him a murder charge, BUT looking at the not-clear video, its hard to see whether the criminal was trying to grab his gun again... who knows?
Armchair QBs on social media are complaining about the last shot, when the perp was down.
But most don’t have a problem with the first seven
Its totally ridiculous.
Had a long rap sheet, out on bond for assault.
Surely you jest?
Not guilty.
I don’t believe there is any law saying a deadly force encounter has to be a fair fight. Concealed handgun carriers can use deadly force to stop the commission of a felony.
I’m fine with “vigilantes” when our laws aren’t enforced.
Given that this happened in liberal Houston, I must predict that this guy will be charged.
As the old saying goes, you could get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich.
Sorry, you go to jail.
It seemed pretty clear to me that it was a justified shooting. The problem is that he left. I don’t blame him for fleeing with the woke justice system he would “rely on” to perform justice. Would I have fled, oh hell yes. I don’t want to deal with the portion of society that has become worse than the criminals (judges, Soros prosecutors, many LEO depts.).
Houston’s Kim Ogg is a Soros DA
Innocent on all charges except the throwing of his coffee at the guy. Coffee has gotten expensive. Don’t waste it. That’s a crime. The shoot itself? Good work.

True that. But most states will punish disproportional force, aka using more force than is needed.
That’s probably a good idea when the person be scrutinized is a highly-trained police officer. But much leeway should be given when the person is an untrained and under stress civilian.
It wasn’t just the last shot but that he had picked up the robber’s gun BEFORE taking that last shot that will do him in, if it goes to a jury. I don’t think anyone will disagree that the robber needed to get shot but that last shot is going to be damned hard to justify in a self-defense claim.
