Anyone who takes even a cursory look at the news – regardless the source – has to be aware of fentanyl – the latest of the killer drugs assaulting our society. It wasn't too long ago that virtually no one had ever heard of it. Now, it seems to be everywhere, and from what we are told, it is a killer of staggering proportions.
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is said to be 50 times more potent than heroin. While the drug is found in all states, California is particularly hard hit, and the source, it appears, is movement of the drug across the border from Mexico, with Interstate 5 being a main trafficking route.
Authorities believe the original source of the drug is China, and there seems to be no limit to the quantity that ends up in the U.S. There is no information available as to whether our government has had any contact with China about this movement of the drug.
In a recent report from California Gov. Gavin Newsom, law enforcement, just in California this year, seized 28,765 pounds of the drug. According to Newsom, that's enough to kill the entire of population of North America, TWICE!

I finally personally knew someone who ID and died from it.
My Daughter’s friend who moved to Chicago from a rural area, he was a relatively young man only about 37 and did NOT have a history of serious drug use. As I understand that’s what is so bad about Fentanyl, first time you use it can kill you.
Nonsense.
If I stop by and leave 100 mg. of fentanyl in a stoppered vial inside your milkbox, am I "waging war" on you? Of course not.
The supply is not the problem. The problem is the demand.
The number of people being murdered every day by fentanyl is the equivalent of a plane crash. Imagine the public outrage if the news reported a plane crash EVERY DAY. Instead… crickets.
Shooting yourself in the head with a Glock is NOT “murder”, neither is overdosing on fentanyl.
And why is that?
Yup, the government CONDONES death by fentanyl since it does nothing about it coming across the southern border. Wanna stop this crap? Assassinate the drug cartels. “But that’s not who we are!”
Maybe not before they chew some old man’s face off, though.
Demand aside, they’re knowingly killing Americans. No one is forcing the CCP to supply the cartels.
We should be bombing the snot out of the cartels, not funding a border squabble on the other side of the world.

I recommend the book “The Least of Us” by Sam Quinones. It provides good insights into fentanyl and meth problem.
It was traditional for people to toss a pair of combat boots over the powerlines when they PCSed from Lowry AB in Denver. Enough people did that they’d have to get a cherry-picker out there and cut them down periodically. A lot of weight on the lines.
You know, for the most part, aside from accidental contact or ingestion, don’t do drugs and you won’t have to worry about fentanyl being so deadly.
When someone tricks or deceives you into doing either, it is murder.
My 19 yr old son died from intentional poisoning done at a party, done to rob him.
So GFY
Most addicts never quit.
“ Most addicts never quit.”
That’s the problem with the disease model.
Every other disease I work on, the patient wants to get better.
Since taking "recreational" drugs is a CHOICE, and bad choices frequently have bad outcomes, it is only chemical warfare against undesirables we could as soon do without. It won't affect normal people unless they've failed to teach their offspring to make better choices.
“Since taking “recreational” drugs is a CHOICE..”
True enough, as far as it goes. But many of the people dying from fentanyl poisoning aren’t trying to buy fentanyl. They’re being told it’s Xanax or Adderal.
That’s fraud. And when a fraud leads to death it’s homicide.
“it is only chemical warfare against undesirables we could as soon do without.”
Here’s hoping it happens to someone you love.

So, Xanax or Adderal are OK to abuse?
Those I love have been educated to the dangers of drug abuse. If they choose to ignore the lessons, it’s on them.
I hope that none of those YOU love make that fatal mistake.
“ So, Xanax or Adderal are OK to abuse?”
I never said they were. Try addressing my point, Skippy. They victims were told they were buying one thing. Something lethal was sold to them instead.
Is that okay?
L
They CHOSE to buy illegal drugs. Is THAT OK?
