If McCarthy becomes speaker, he won’t last long

The FOX News fanboys and McCarthy cheerleaders are all a flutter about this. Embarrassing.

What’s embarrassing is giving commie Dems more fodder…on top of their gesticulation over Jan 6.

I’m not a fan of McCarthy but he has made the necessary concessions in writing and the Freedom Caucus group has offered no real alternative candidate. We have to get the Speakership in place or there will be growing pressure for the moderates to do what they did in PA and Ohio - team up with the Dems for a “unity” candidate and instead of a half a loaf, we will have nothing. And if that happens, there won’t be a single serious investigation into the bribery payments made to Hunter Biden, the incompetence of Mayorkas or any other conservative topic, period.

The GOPe working its magic. AGAIN!
If the vote was 198 for a true Conservative, does anyone
here actually think the GOPe would be heralding the damage
being done as they held out for two years?

Speaker of My Heart Speaker of my heart
Robber with no soul
Kevin, why can’t you go?
I wait patiently
Our hearts cries out
Pain inside
please Kevin just go
We wait patiently
We want Kevin home
where the Going gets rough
Come back, come back, come back Newt
We’ve had enough
Give us a king
Happy again
Hear our cry
And ease our pain
We want Kevin homee
Where the going gets rough
Come back, come back, come back Newt
We’ve had enough
Give Us King
Hear our cry
Just go away, Kev, And ease our pain
With apologies to the great Irma Thomas

Hitler also made promises in writing.
McCarthy is already busy figuring out how to get out of those promises while appearing to be doing everything necessary to fulfill them.

OK.
I think that the Conservatives have wrung just about every drop of water from this stone that they are going to get.
Now may be the time for them to accet the numerous concessions that they have rightfully forced McCarthy to concede and just vote “present” in the next vote for Speaker. If I understand it, by voting “present” it lowers the threshold for the number of positive votes required for Speaker.
The MAGA Caucus gets to save face, McCarthy gets his dream job (for as long as he can hold onto it), and the rules of the House have been shifted ever so slightly back to sanity.
Am I wrong?
