A leaked membership list suggests that Oath Keepers have infiltrated the Department of Homeland Security.
More than 300 members of the paramilitary group describe themselves as current or former DHS employees.
DHS did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Just weeks after Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes was convicted of seditious conspiracy for trying to violently overturn the 2020 election, a leak of the paramilitary group's membership list has revealed that potentially hundreds of far-right extremists have infiltrated federal law enforcement, the Project on Government Oversight reported on Monday.
Launched in 2009, the Oath Keepers from the start tried to recruit from the military and law enforcement with an ostensible goal of upholding the US Constitution and having its members refuse unlawful orders, per the Southern Poverty Law Center, which labels it an "extremist" group. In practice, that has meant, as on January 6, rejecting the rule of law — court orders and democratic processes that thwart far-right policy goals — in favor of conspiracy theories and armed resistance.

Its not news that most Oathkeepers are former military or LEOs.
Far-right
goal of upholding the US Constitution
“USA
We Honor Our Constitutional Oath!
The OathKeepers are a group of proud American Patriots who are dedicated to upholding the constitution of the United States. Our members have a long history of service to the United States as military, law enforcement, first responders and service oriented citizens, and continue to serve through community service, volunteer and emergency support.
Traditionally our mission has been to provide support in disasters to all those who need it, support search and rescue operations, assist law enforcement, and provide public education for emergency preparations.
Recently our mission has changed somewhat to meet current challenges, becoming a rapidly growing organization of Americans who want to have a say in the direction of our country, as such we have become more politically aware and active.
We have become increasingly concerned with the actions of our federal, state and local governments, news and social media companies, as well as the obvious bias of our federal agencies. The Oathkeepers has become a primary target of corrupt groups who are out to damage and destroy Amercian freedom and liberties. As such we need the support of honest and ethical American’s who want to fight against this corruption.
We invite you to find out the truth about our organization and members, and if you are interested in supporting or joining our cause, we would be honored to serve alongside you!”
Sounds really scarwy
Maybe with such a large number of people it's the other way around........ The DHS infiltrated the Oath Keepers.....
” Southern Poverty Law Center”
Also known as northern rich leftists seeking to destroy the rule of law.
The rule of opposites.
Was the Oath Keepers infiltrated by DHS?
“Southern Poverty Law Center”
These b@stards are a menace in their own right!
Patriot = right wing extremists according to the left.
I wish that was true. From Covid we learned that it huge number of LEOs will follow orders unquestioned.
They need to go away.
Another 450 are FBI agents - which leaves at most 250 actual members... Of course there’s other ‘agencies’ with investigative powers... it’s possible when all is said and done Oath Keepers only has 18 members ...
They make it sound like a bad thing.
“Why would anyone obey an unlawful order?”
Happens all the time. The most recent was every officer in the land ordering people to get an experimental “vax”
So agents provocateurs are provocateuring themselves. It’s a circle provoke!
One might call that a rhetorical question.
Its the other way around. The people on the list have infiltrated the oath keepers. The media knows this, and anyone who believes them is very gullible.
Launched in 2009, the Oath Keepers from the start tried to recruit from the military and law enforcement with an ostensible goal of upholding the US Constitution and having its members refuse unlawful orders, per the Southern Poverty Law Center, which labels it an "extremist" group. In practice, that has meant, as on January 6, rejecting the rule of law...
IOW, further evidence that the Business Insider is just another left-wing front.
“upholding the US Constitution and having its members refuse unlawful orders,”
Don’t police, military, and Government officials take an oath to uphold the Constitution? Why would anyone obey an unlawful order? Well, at least I now know what makes someone a right wing extremist in the eye of the MSM.”
We do, and I did.
I also was taught that I was not required to follow unlawful orders. It is against the law to shoot a secured PW. No one should be allowed to order me or anyone else to do so.
This was being taught after the My Lai incident.
I don’t really know about before that, or what is taught today.
It requires a strong sense of morality, and law, especially the Constitution.
