Twitter announced late Monday that it has disbanded the company’s Trust and Safety Council, a board of experts that advised the platform on the “safety” of certain content, following concerns over child exploitation.

I think he’s doing a great work with witter - has to clean it up first so I’ll give him lots of room for trial and error as he goes - but his long range plans for twitter is fabulous and will be great for this country.
Crowdsource it. Take some of the money he’s saving and use it to reward users who report illegal content.
Wow.
I have signed up to Twitter blue on my smallish account (not politics related or anything).
I figure it would be nice to be verified anyway and I believe Musk and Twitter deserve support.
They only banned conservatives. That’s it.
The smug, soft, and woke Twitternaughts didn’t realize that Elon had hard-core teams of programmers who do real world stuff who would come in and run circles around them while unsabotaging all their dirty works.
“Trust And Safety Council” - Orwell would have loved to use that one.
A board of experts in charge of making sure nothing was done to stop child molesters
I don’t think they’ll be missed
Given some of the people still on there, their version of ‘illegal content’ and yours have a very different definition.

Agreed. They were used to Dorsey who let Roth handle things while Dorsey vacationed at resorts or traveled around speaking to leftist companies telling them how meek he was and how he certainly wanted free speech to thrive on Twitter. Meanwhile, those actually running the place spent Twitter’s money as if it was not their own. Free four-star lunches and a wine bar for those that bothered to come into work. If they did show up and the work was too stressful, they could always spend half the day in the mediation room.
The safety team silenced those that didn’t agree with their world view, and then later found a reason to do so. Meanwhile, they enjoyed checking the porn sites that they allowed to thrive on the site Dorsey was paying for. He took at hands-off approach because then he would have no culpability for their actions.
One thing I disagree with Musk on is when he said Dorsey had no idea what was happening. Of course he did. Do you really think he was unaware the New York Post article on Hunter’s laptop was being suppressed and that news site had been suspended? This was a guy whose company depended on gossip being promulgated. Of course he kept up with multiple news sites from all viewpoints and knew that was happening. He just ignored it and later pretended he knew nothing about it and a lot of other stuff that was going on.
Maybe Musk is trying to lure Dorsey into a false sense of security. I don’t know. However, his attempts to excuse Dorsey from knowing what was going on at his own company doesn’t make sense. Musk wouldn’t excuse that behavior from himself, why would he excuse it from another company CEO?
“a board of experts”
There we go again...”experts”
Roth was an expert at encouraging under age kids to go homo.
When was the last time any real software development done at Twitter. The product has been mature for years. I would have Twitter ages ago. I loathed maintenance and only did that for a brief time early in my career. That’s the stuff of entry level people and poses no real future. I doubt there were any more that a couple decent developers left at Twitter. The good one moves on long ago.
The howling, reeeeeeing, and gnashing of teeth can officially commence at full volume now. “Misinfomation, and DANGEROUS attacks on vulnerable communities!”
Musk’s new slogan should be “Never trust a leftist and you’re fired”.
What you say about Dorsey makes sense. It’s likely that Musk needed to win Dorsey over in order to make the deal go through, so there may be a quid pro quo there.
Could he send them down to the flames of Hell, too?
Tip of the iceberg.
By the time Musk bought Twitter Dorsey was completely gone from management and owned less than 3% of the stock.
He really had nothing to say about the sale.
I am confused because I somehow thought that Dorsey was on board with Elon Musk in the takeover effort. That is, Dorsey was inside feeding Musk intelligence about the real situation within Twitter.
