Hatred of transgender people isn’t welcome in Sacramento. Neither is Dave Chappelle

Transgender Americans face rising hatred and violence in a year that has seen 35 of them murdered. Last month, a gunman entered an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado and started firing, killing five and injuring 19. In that context, the last thing that should be happening in Sacramento is for a notorious transphobe to have a platform at one of the city’s most prominent venues. Yet that’s exactly what’s happening. On Monday, the Golden 1 Center will feature comedian Dave Chappelle, giving a powerful platform to a transphobe who has purposefully misgendered transgender people and publicly sided with the famously transphobic author J.K. Rowling.

At some point, the left conflated “hatred” and “disapproval.” And they’re not the same thing. I certainly don’t “hate” transgender people. I don’t approve of their behavior. I think they’re mentally ill. I believe that their sick agenda is damaging this culture. But do I hate them? No, I don’t.

But perhaps their attitude is understandable because on their side, hate and disapproval are the same thing? They both disapprove of and hate Trump and his supporters. They both disapprove of and hate conservatives. They both disapprove of and hate traditional Christians. Etc. etc.

Rowling is famous for believing that there are two genders which threatens the whole premise of trans theology. Lucky for her she is gillionaire and is impervious to silencing. It is the ultimate in emotional blackmail to blame the deaths of trans on critics or comics of trans. This writer is just mindlessly repeating the party line to marginalize Chappelle.

It's a sleight of hand parlor trick, something they are famous for. The corollary is their earlier demands for "tolerance", where they conflate it with approval. and/or demand celebration and eventually participation, more or less. For example, guys generally do not want to date chicks with dicks, this is false advertising. They consider this abhorrent, similarly lesbians want nothing to do with tranny types. I was happily naïve of all this drama for most of my life. Maybe Plato or somebody smarter than me was correct about where "tolerance" will lead. Pretty whacky. Yeah, "phobia" is an unreasonable fear of something - most people express a kind of disgust, though parents are concerned for their children. Unreasonable? Hm.
