A tough, voter-approved gun control law in Oregon sees high-capacity magazines prohibited from being sold and transferred. New gun buyers must also obtain permits, criminal background checks, fingerprints, and go through training courses.
A number of lawsuits have been filed challenging the measure, which was narrowly approved by voters last month. The outcome of this measure is being carefully watched. It is one of the first sweeping gun restrictions since the New York law limiting gun ownership outside the home was struck down by the Supreme Court in June.
An earlier decision blocking Thursday’s implementation of the law remains temporarily in effect after the Oregon Supreme Court declined to reverse the earlier ruling.
On Wednesday evening, Chief Justice Martha Walters denied state Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum’s emergency motion to intervene.
Despite a ruling in favor of the law from a federal judge, Harney County Judge Robert Raschio blocked the law on Tuesday. According to an urgent filing from the Oregon Department of Justice, Raschio’s claim is incorrect.
“Magazine capacity restrictions and permitting requirements have a proven track record: they save lives!” a furious AG Rosenblum stated. “We are confident the Oregon Constitution — like the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution — allows these reasonable regulations.”

One-ounce slugs in a shotgun can do a LOT of damage!
I've seen cops shoot. Trust me, you don't want them training anyone.
The liberal mind on display.
I thought it said, "shall not be infringed."
In the meantime, hundreds of gun dealers are out of business.
Post card? No.
Never give up your weapons, folks. Democrats want to use government to murder us in mass.
I have a terrible feeling that someday we are going to need iye guns to fight off the bastards who are trying to confiscate them. This isn’t about public-school retards shooting each other with “Glock AR-15s”. This is about the government taking away our freedom and liberty. Same thing goes for climate change. It too is being used along with Tide pod sucking, 8-year-old miniature retarded prophets to pimp anti-capitalism.
On my road, in rural Linn County, every other house, it seems, has a "No On 114" sign. They are all still up. Of course, on days with decent weather, I can hear gunfire coming from near and far.
Sometimes it's like the old Red Green Show, which had constant gunfire in the audio background.
As I’ve said repeatedly, it’s time to start underground gunsmithing shops. Anything they might confiscate, quickly use it at the border to take down some Coyotes. Have an alibi. Report it as stolen. Never let it be found. To fight the federal government, use Satyagraha only. F16s and nuclear bombs are useless against it.
Miyamoto Musashi (or is it Musashi Miyamoto?), a great samurai who invented two-sworded combat, trained the local peasants in fencing, so they could defend against marauding bandits. Toshiro Mifune starred in a trilogy about Musashi’s life.
Oregon’s AG Rosenblum is so far left, she makes Biden look like a conservative.
They do have a proven track record.
Criminals don’t obey them.
Exactly!
Nice. Very interesting
So a trained and armed citizenry defending itself against the bad guys
Who woulda thunk it?
Basically, if you remove a certain race’s stats from the numbers, we are as safe as or safer than the low countries were last century, before they started committing national/cultural suicide.
One thing you learn from Japanese history is that prowess in battle is only useful to a limited extent. The Iga ninja clans were defeated despite their superior tactics, because they were burnt out of their homes and crops, and starved, and had to engage in desperate frontal assaults, inimical to their doctrine, and which they lost.
Dear Mr. Rosenblum, Suck it, dirtbag!
Interesting…..thought about your previous post about the guy that trained everyone.
If a locale had a majority of its citizens and of the right mindset, how much would that locale reduce its dependence on a police force, in their current form.
You could probably completely eliminate the need in some places.
Maybe he wants to limit the number of pellets in a shotgun shell…?
:)
