WASHINGTON, Dec 7 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden on Wednesday renewed vows to secure a new ban on assault weapons in the United States as he turns up heat on lawmakers to pass legislation before his party loses control of Congress next month.
Lawmakers have shown little inclination to outlaw assault weapons since a ban on high-capacity firearms expired in 2004, but Biden is hoping to seize on outrage about the regularity of shootings to lead to greater pressure on them to change their mind.
"We did it before," Biden said of the ban at a vigil for victims of gun violence at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Washington. "We did it, and guess what? It worked ... We can do it again."

If they mistreat us when we are armed, imagine at the treatment you will get if you can’t offer any physical opposition.
I still remember the bad old days of 1962-1984 when the Dems “ONLY wanted to register and ban HANDGUNS! Rifles will not be affected!”
Then after the MacDonald’s killings in San Ysidro, they made a grab for rifles.
NEVER GIVE AN INCH! What do you need so bad you will give up your rights to own firearms? We have the guns, what do they have to negotiate with for them? NOTHING!
And we still have the guns.
Every Demo-rat since LBJ has had the same plan to disarm American Citizens.

Liar. There was no actual AW ban. All the law did was require the removal of the flash suppressor, bayonet lug (how many have been bayoneted since 1900?) and the collapsible stock be made solid. Then a 10 round magazine installed.
The very same rifles, under different names, were then for sale all through the “ban”.
All through that “ban” you could find for sale 30 round magazines stamped “For Police Use Only”.
Only 3 more weeks to end the insanity of a Dem run House.

While arming the Taliban with $87 billion in US weapons and tech and God knows what the hell he’s giving Iran.

What exactly is a non-assault weapon?
Are “weapons” not intended for the purpose to “assault” someone/something?
They are already doing this to us that we should not tolerate and nobody does anything. I don’t think they are too worried anymore about anything they do to us.

Also, um, lots of people have been bayoneted since 1900. The bayonet was a major weapon in WW1 and still important in WW2. US troops were still conducting bayonet charges in Korea and actual individual combat with bayonets continues sporadically to this day.
That same 40% think that socialism can work if the “right people” were in charge.
Which is why the Rats want to do away with it. I believe that if they had the votes they would do it today knowing that it would be two years before it was possible for the GOP to retake the Senate.
I am talking about civilians in the US being bayoneted by criminals.

Bruen would seem to not allow for the “banning” of “assault weapons”, even if Congress passes the law.
Democrats like Biden are trying to do it for some of their more influential constituents (probably campaign contributors), who are frightened at the thought of common people owning semi-automatic firearms. They fail to realize that they’ll have much more violent criminal competition and risks of being attacked after another so-called assault weapons ban. Ambitious criminals don’t care about such laws and will become more heavily armed and numerous in an environment with disarmed law-abiding people.
He does keep calling kamalamadingdong “President”
