A state of emergency has been declared after the electrical power grid was “intentionally attacked” causing a major power outage in Moore County.
The Moore County Sheriff’s Office confirmed those details in a news conference Sunday evening.
More than 34,000 people in Moore County are still without power. The outages began just after 8 p.m. Saturday night across communities in the area, according to Sheriff Ronnie Fields.
Sheriff Fields said firearms were used to shoot and disable equipment at two substations in Moore County.
Power could be out until Thursday, according to the sheriff’s office and Duke Energy officials. Duke officials added that the repairs will need to be sophisticated due to how damaged the substations were.
In the news conference, deputies said the FBI is assisting with the investigation, as well as the state Bureau of Investigation.
“The NC Department of Public Safety is working with our local and federal law enforcement partners and will provide the appropriate state resources needed to assist in this investigation,” NCDPS Secretary Eddie M. Buffaloe, Jr. said.
When asked whether this was domestic terrorism, Sheriff Fields said he couldn’t say whether this was domestic terrorism or not, saying he would leave that for the feds to determine. But he added it was absolutely intentional and the perpetrators knew what they were doing.

Deputies also announced that a curfew has been set for Moore County. It begins at 9 p.m. and will continue until 5 a.m.

Yes, and many of us concluded that it was likely a test run by the lefties/greenies. I just checked and there are apparently over 55,000 transmission substations in the US. Let’s hope that shooting them up doesn’t become the new Green tactic…. that’s a lot of widely dispersed infrastructure to protect.

The swamp has seen how successfully Putin is taking out Ukraine’s power plants and grid, and the havoc it’s causing the civilian population. That’s their goal: grind the hoi polloi ‘til they surrender.

Just saw that there are 55,000 electrical substations in the US and if only nine specific substations were taken out (which specific ones are probably well-known by a dedicated terrorist) and the entire US grid goes down through a cascading sequence, except Texas, which has its own grid system.
Hard to say if this was a few bubbas with a case of Pabst, or a real terrorist act. Alternatively, this could be a false flag to distract from the Twitter revelations.

An interesting question, is it “domestic terrorism”. With words like “hate crime” and “domestic terrorism” we get into endless arguments over the motive. It is something very subjective. All that matters is the actions of the individual(s) that did it.
I do electrical distribution design for the utility company.
People that need to know about it already do.
Work is constantly being done.
