Representative James Clyburn. (D-SC) said on this week’s broadcast on MSNBC’s “The Sunday Show” Republican leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy should make a deal with Democrats to get enough votes to become Speaker of the House.
Host Jonathan Capehart said, “Let’s talk about the disunity on the other side of the aisle. Current house minority leader, Kevin McCarthy, he is working hard to scare off the 218 votes he’s going to need on January 3, when they have the vote for the new House speaker. Do you think he’ll be successful in his quest for the speaker’s gavel?”

“Wooga-Wooga”
Clyburn is a D, he knows what he is doing.
Mitch will go for it too > IMO.
He is a D, why not.
We had one of those in the Tennessee General Assembly. I the mid 2000s, a “Republican” made a deal with DemocRats in a closely divided House to elect him the speaker. His treachery was short-lived and he was defeated in the primary the next year.
McCarthy has by my observation felt the base's true wishes, and has been (at least acting) more conservative. His latest drive to drop the Military vaccine mandate is correct, and represents us.
If McCarthy gets SOTH, it will be because he respected his Conservative base (us) and NOT the Dems.
Clyburn WOULD say that. (Did they want to make a deal with the GOP — ever?)
Head plantation owner speaks from his other mouth below his waist line
Just remember McCarthy, Clyburn gave us the BRAINDEAD, PANTS CRAPPING BIDEN!
Perhaps he should sacrifice his EGO, AMBITION, and GREED for the good of the people he CLAIMS to represent.
Making a deal with dems for votes is like asking a mafioso for a small loan. He’ll get the speaker’s gavel but they will totally own him. If I were a supporter of his and heard that he got votes from dems to put him over the top I’d switch my vote to anyone else and tell everyone else to as well. It would essentially mean the GOP Speaker is a dem puppet and any chance at a conservative agenda would be dead dead dead.
Yeah, well I’m a Californian and I wouldn’t trust that POS as far as I could throw him, and at my age that ain’t far!
