Donald Trump Jr. called out Republicans who are against former President Donald Trump’s choice for the next House Speaker, GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), and said those Republicans are “in effect empowering those who impeached Donald Trump.”
Trump Jr.’s remarks come amid concerns from top conservatives about a “doomsday scenario” where House Democrats would undercut GOP power by working with certain Republicans to oppose McCarthy and install a more moderate Speaker.

I liked Don Jr more when he wasn’t trying to be a politician.
Trump’s support of a bonafide RINO is a mistake.
Don siding with his father in supporting a RINO is also a mistake.
“...GOP power...”
What power? If they have any, they never use it to fight Evil, so what’s the point?
FWIW, I don’t want Kevin, either. I want someone to the RIGHT of Maggie Thatcher as Speaker!
Enough d*cking around. Grow a pair or two, ya GOP quislings!
But at the end of the day, guess who’s gonna be SOH. 😏
Of course and a given.
Oh, I don’t expect them to listen to me or ‘represent’ me in any way, shape or form anymore. Flippin’ Uniparty Stooges!
If they’d just listen to me, so many of our problems could easily be solved. *SNORT* ;)
Lately, I view everything not as dem vs repub, but as Patriot vs uniparty.
In this view, might as well have pelousy, as opposed to the controlled-opposition McCarthy.
I’m with DJT all the way. But, him supporting McCarthy reminds me first of Jeff Sessions, then Bill Barr, then Mad Dog Mattis, then Donut Christie, then General John Kelly, then Christopher Wray.
“ Trump’s support of a bonafide RINO is a mistake.

That is particularly true, because, as I understand it, the opposition to McCarthy is coming from further to the right of McCarthy, not to his left. In other words, the two trumps appear to not want a MAGA speaker. Either that, or they don’t think it possible and want to avoid a fight that will tear apart the party.

Understood.
Its not the first time Trump has fought the conservative wing of the party. If I remember correctly it also resulted in criticism for signing a ridiculous spending bill, then trying to act like he is a fiscal conservative.
The Freedom Caucus will hurt the entire Republican agenda if they don’t get on the team, & fast. We must fight them, & Dems, in 2018!

Next two years are going to be crazy.
If we can make it that far bookie not taking bets Biden has a fool proof system of screwing things up our enemy’s dream has come true with Biden and his stooge chaos crew in the WH.
2024 might be a different story. Take the minor win now, and work for a bigger one.
[[What power? If they have any, they never use it to fight Evil, so what’s the point?]]
Good question, and good point. I guess they mean “the power to compromise our values in order to not upset the left”
The way things are going, I’m considering being a pilgrim instead of a patriot.
The Trump’s are the worst judges of character the planet may ever have seen; why in the hell would you spend a nanosecond of your time defending a gutless, POS RINO who, not only never made a single effort to support you, but has repeatedly worked to undermine your initiatives to improve the country and its citizens. Just bizarre...
“Lately, I view everything not as dem vs repub, but as Patriot vs uniparty.”
That’s the rational way of viewing it - and Patriots are a minority - a small one at that. Which is why it makes no sense to fight over the Republican Speaker position.
MTG explained this dynamic.
The best Patriots can do to leverage their power is to serve as a swing voting block that has the power to put Republicans over the top - if they see fit.
If Republicans want to pass anything, make it clear that they will first need to court the Patriot lobby and offer certain concessions.
Fighting (a losing battle) over the Speakership is NOT the way to broker such a deal.
McCarthy raised money for specific candidates in GOP primaries this election cycle (when he should have stayed neutral) to buy their obedience and support for the speakership. He even attempted to knock out Bob Good in his primary by raising money for Denver Riggleman against Good. Leadership should not be getting involved in their members’ primaries. It just gets ugly later on.
