I liked Don Jr more when he wasn’t trying to be a politician.

Trump’s support of a bonafide RINO is a mistake.
Don siding with his father in supporting a RINO is also a mistake.

“...GOP power...”

What power? If they have any, they never use it to fight Evil, so what’s the point?

FWIW, I don’t want Kevin, either. I want someone to the RIGHT of Maggie Thatcher as Speaker!

Enough d*cking around. Grow a pair or two, ya GOP quislings!

Lately, I view everything not as dem vs repub, but as Patriot vs uniparty.

In this view, might as well have pelousy, as opposed to the controlled-opposition McCarthy.

I’m with DJT all the way. But, him supporting McCarthy reminds me first of Jeff Sessions, then Bill Barr, then Mad Dog Mattis, then Donut Christie, then General John Kelly, then Christopher Wray.

Its not the first time Trump has fought the conservative wing of the party. If I remember correctly it also resulted in criticism for signing a ridiculous spending bill, then trying to act like he is a fiscal conservative.

The Freedom Caucus will hurt the entire Republican agenda if they don’t get on the team, & fast. We must fight them, & Dems, in 2018!

Next two years are going to be crazy.

If we can make it that far bookie not taking bets Biden has a fool proof system of screwing things up our enemy’s dream has come true with Biden and his stooge chaos crew in the WH.

There is zero chance of electing a MAGA Speaker with the tiny edge Republicans have and the high number of RINOs still in the House. Don Jr. and MTG are being realists, not endorsing McCarthy's RINO-ism. There is a good chance, however, that MAGA Reps will be able to exert influence over McCarthy's decision-making - as the narrow majority will require him to keep them on board.

2024 might be a different story. Take the minor win now, and work for a bigger one.

The Trump’s are the worst judges of character the planet may ever have seen; why in the hell would you spend a nanosecond of your time defending a gutless, POS RINO who, not only never made a single effort to support you, but has repeatedly worked to undermine your initiatives to improve the country and its citizens. Just bizarre...

McCarthy raised money for specific candidates in GOP primaries this election cycle (when he should have stayed neutral) to buy their obedience and support for the speakership. He even attempted to knock out Bob Good in his primary by raising money for Denver Riggleman against Good. Leadership should not be getting involved in their members’ primaries. It just gets ugly later on.

If McCarthy becomes Speaker, he’ll have MTG on his ass 24-7 every time he tries to go RINO.

The Trump family’s support of McCarthy is problematic. Perhaps it allows them to appeal to establishment Republicans when McCarthy gets dumped after the Speaker vote. Appeasing the RINOs is a failed strategy.

McCarthy may eventually be named Speaker, however I fully support Gaetz et al not rubber stamping him already.

The question is, who will McCarthy now partner with to get the final votes he needs? Gaetz and hard right conservatives, or Jeffries?

The fact that question is even being asked shows why McCarthy shouldn’t be rubber stamped. Make him show his true colors.

The democrats don’t need to undercut the republicans.

There are enough RINOs in the House, that secretly support the Left, that will vote in the interest of bipartisanship that undercutting won’t be necessary.

Boy, Trump sure knows how to pick’em. Jeff Sessions, Chris Wray, Bill Barr General Mattis, General Kelly. Backing McCarthy will be yet another personnel blunder. May as well have Mitt Romney as speaker.

The Donald should not expect much support then, when McCarthy calls for investigations of him and impeachment at some point.
