Russians Fleeing Crimea Amid Fears of Ukrainian Advance—Report

Russians are fleeing Crimea amid fears that Ukraine will soon move to recapture the region that Vladimir Putin illegally annexed in 2014, according to local media reports.

Emil Ibragimov, the head of the Crimean project and educational platform Q-Hub, told Radio NV in a video published on Friday that Russians are fleeing from Crimea to the neighboring Russian region of Krasnodar because they fear Ukraine will eventually liberate the Black Sea peninsula.

Ibragimov said that many Russian citizens who settled in Crimea after it was occupied eight years ago had already left.

His remarks coincide with an assessment by the British Ministry of Defence on Friday. This concluded that Russia is regrouping its forces in preparation for a potential Ukrainian push into Crimea and other Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine following the withdrawal of Russian troops from the western portion of the southern Kherson region on November 10.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky vowed to take back Crimea during a televised address on August 29, saying that Ukraine's military had "kept the goal" of recapturing Crimea since it was annexed.

Unless you think it would be on the up and up for Mexico to invade Texas in order to "liberate Mexicans from Texas Nazis," and then held a referendum where 125% voter turnout resulted in 90% of Texans choosing to join Mexico.

Not at all. He’s here and if I want to know about tank warfare….
But in religion and international relations he lived in a fantasy world. In Mexico he thought he was a cowboy.

I've been watching the Ukrainians win "decisive victories" day after day, for months on end. Each day it starts over again, and they are back to square one.

Ukrainians have taken 50% of their territory back and will likely take back the rest. Russians are hoping attacks on civilian targets will make up for their complete failure on the battlefield. You, like so many other Putinists on this forum, are utterly delusional about what is happening.

Putin has taken his case to the highest court of appeals -- the battlefield. Which is where Texas won its independence.

And looks like he's losing his case, and the people of Crimea--minus the close to a million Orcs Russia has colonized the territory with while systematically persecuting Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars--will soon be returned to Ukraine.

Bombing civilians didn't work for Hitler. Won't work for Putin, either.

That’s barbaric. In WWII, my dad landed on Omaha beach and detonated the mines so that the soldiers could come ashore. So they could live and get the war won. Because our soldiers’ lives matter.
Russia is one country I have been to that I don’t care to see again. Interesting, yes. Humane? Not as much.

“Losing 50% of captured Ukrainian territory was a feint and all according to plan.”

Yep and losing the only capitol city Kherson is all part of the master plan to make Ukraine tired of killing Russians. Just wait until Russia loses Crimea. Then you will see the brilliance of Putin’s strategy.

“In all wars that Russia [and the Soviet Union] has ever fought, it relies entirely on the number of people,” Nazar says. “[Soviet Field Marshal Georgy] Zhukov said in World War II: ‘men’s deaths are not a problem, women will give birth to more of them’. That’s their viewpoint. A human for them is just a unit, a resource,” he says.

He attempts to have the opposite relationship with his soldiers.

“I’ve worked with American commanders and advisors,” Nazar says. “They have a great phrase: ‘do as I do’. It’s their motto, and I try to follow it as well.

“Russian commanders, on the other hand, they give orders and tasks to their soldiers without knowing how they will achieve them. Then they sit back while their troops fight, not caring how many of them will die or not. In order for your soldiers to trust you, they must see that you are not somewhere far away, but there at the forward positions with them. That’s the exact opposite of how Russian officers think,” he says.
