With persistent inflation eroding wage gains, more Americans are struggling financially just as the peak shopping season kicks into high gear.
Holiday spending could come at a high cost if it means tacking on additional credit card debt just as interest rates rise.

Maxing credit cards for the win. /s
Overheard someone saying CC reduced their credit limit.
When the ballot box is NOT questioned; the People get the government they deserve
Not laughing. 😂👍
Setting the stage for some Black Friday deep discounts and stampedes.
And from credit card to credit card.
that happened to me, but because i don’t use the card enough. They cut it in half.
At the same time, voters re-elected the idiots causing all this mess so there should be no complaints at all, from anyone, for any reason (if they’re liberal).
Hate to say it, but all of the past 400 years, most of society lived off their most recent wages. Thats not a sin. We all started there. Hopefully many worked their way past it.
Good. Let them have what they asked for.
And inflation and energy prices are fixing to really crank up…vote BLUE RAT…
Wait till the CC companies raise their interest rates to 30% or more to cover the deadbeats not paying.
Haven’t 60% +/- been doing this….for several decades??
Last year we had almost no presents under the tree. It was still a good Christmas - celebrating the Savior’s birth with our family.
This year, I’ve nearly done the shopping and spent maybe $200.
I feel like I am drowning in stuff as it is...the best present my children could give me is helping me get rid of stuff.
And trying not to give people “stuff.” Only that which is truly useful, or compact, or will be eaten up or used up, gone and done with.
I hear ya.
You know its getting tough when people making 200K a year are living paycheck to paycheck - at least that is what I read a week or so back that was posted on FR.
Hum,,
Well,
that explains all the tv commercials I’ve been seeing
swapping Xmas out for Soccer
Santa all hot to bother for
soi boi ball.
can’t afford gifts, only can afford sitting in front of your tv
( if you’re lucky and aren’t homeless yet )
There is a HUGE difference is the cost of living from one place in the country to another.
First of all a person getting a W2 with income of 200K is paying 28% or more Federal tax. They may be also paying 5-8% state income tax and IF thy work in NYC they are also paying an additional city tax. Plus the real estate taxes in places like Westchester County(north of NYC)are absolutely crazy.
Go to realtor.com and put in the town of Dobbs Ferry, NY. A moderate sized house is $1MM. Plus the taxes are $30K.
Here is an example:

My point is a person working in NYC, taking the train into Manhattan everyday and living in Dobbs Ferry, NY has to make $200 MINIMUM just to survive.
Who cares! Let them eat cake!!! Stupid folk! They slit their own throats! At this moment I don’t give a rats butt! As long as I have a roof, food on my table, heating and water i’m going to enjoy the little time that we have left! So with that said I’m fine. AND for all those communist climate change freaking brainwashed idiots reality of survival is gonna hit you between the eyes sooner or later and you know what… I won’t shed a tear for you all! Starve and Freeze you bastards! The evil climate change globalist elitist want you dead and you are only a pawn in their evil Global dominating scheme ….once they use you they’ll spit you out and eliminate you! You are their useful idiots but sooner or later you’ll realize they wanted the world to themselves, but by then you my dumb friend will be 6 feet under!!
How does that compare to 1965???
