Lately, Trump has been calling Elaine Chao “Coco Chow.”
I have no idea why he thinks that's insulting. Has he ever given a reference for what it means?
I'm guessing maybe Coco Chanel but even then, why is that an insult? No one knows who she was nowadays.
I take it as something along the lines of Coco Chanel Chao.
As in Mitch’s CCP handler. The Chanel part likely said ironically, whose “lovely wife” was it he used to talk about?

I believe “Coco” is her nickname and “Chao” is her maiden name, which she goes by in her professional life - Elaine Chao.
