Lara Trump issues dark warning to DeSantis saying it would be ‘nicer’ for him to stay out of 2024 race

Lara Trump issued a dark warning to Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis saying it would be “nicer” for him to stay out of the 2024 race for the GOP presidential nomination.

The daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump appeared on Sky News Australia to boost his prospective candidacy that’s expected to be announced on Tuesday.

The announcement appears to be set to go ahead despite Mr Trump being urged by allies to delay his campaign start until after the Georgia Senate runoff on 6 December.

“I think he's a smart enough guy to know that it would be great to have all the support of this party, of the America first, Maga movement, whatever you want to call it, fully behind him in 2028,” Ms Trump said.

She said the movement could be split if Mr DeSantis runs in 2024.

“I can tell you those primaries get very messy and very raw. We've experienced that before. So wouldn't it be nicer for him, and I think he knows this, to wait until 2028,” she added.

I disagree.

I can’t wait for the young inexperienced little bull from Florida to take on the Orange Mammoth.

I’m giddy with anticipation about Trump vs DeSantis.

It should be a fantastic primary.

One of Trump’s worst problems was that he alienated a lot of his WH advisors with unpredictable off-the-wall attacks, and he ended up with his rather liberal kids and their spouses being the last ones standing. They were the people running things and telling him what he wanted to hear.

It has always seemed to me that they may have been in alliance with Pence, and while Pence was an idiot, as vacant as he looked, he was an Evangelical idiot and I think Trump felt a little intimidated by his squeaky-cleanness and didn’t realize that Pence was not on his side until way too late.

Oh, good grief. That is not a “dark warning.” It’s merely an opinion and a rather benign one at that.

I loathe the media.

Desantis stays out, Trump loses 2024 and is finally out of the party, Desantis takes over. Since it seems this is what the Trump Cult wants, let them have it.

Fast forward to 2028:

"Trump was robbed in '24! Voter fraud! Stolen election! We owe him the nomination. He might be 82 but he has the stamina of a 30-year old! Just look at him! So much energy! Nobody else can win!"

If course, the other option to avoid a split is for Trump to realize the country isn't going to want to elect a guy who will be even older than Biden was when he was elected.

In any case, despite a contentious primary in 2016, the losers generally rallies around the winner because they wanted to do what was best for the country despite any hurt feelings personally.

Why can't that happen again in 2024?

Saying it would be “nicer” if he stayed out of the race is dark warning?

"Nicer for him". If he runs, it won't be so nice for him.

Bullies gonna bully.

Yeah, this kind of thing will push another opponent to run lest they be views as afraid of trump

I wish trump was President now but there is a hard ceiling on his support numbers and it is unlikely he can win in 24

I’ll be voting in the primary with that in min, as will the few dozen people I’ve spoken with the last few weeks who feel the same

It’s unfortunate and kinda sad but I’d prefer anything over 4 more years of whatever the dems can put up

“Nice? Politics isn’t nice when has desantis ever said he was running?”

He hasn’t.
He does’t have to because DeSantis sycophants are doing it for him. He gets to play “Mr Coy” for awhile.

Trump will “snuff it out” eventually, the Orange Man started his carpet bombing campaign this week.

I wholeheartedly voted for DeSantis for Governor. We here in Florence hired him for a four year term. Not a one year term. Period.

That won’t happen.

Its one more rodeo and Trump is done after 2024.

Hopefully because of the 22nd Amendment kicking in.

We need “street fighter” Trump to finish draining the swamp through his second term in office. Trump can hopefully return all the state powers that the corrupt feds have been stealing from states for the last 100+ years back to the states by the time that he finishes his second term.

Regarding DeSantis, like a lot of other GOP elite, may not understand that the delegates to the Constitutional Convention gave the lion’s share of government power to serve the people to the states, not the federal government.

In other words, the best that DeSantis can do under the Constitution if he wants to give the most citizens as possible the best government that they can have under the Constitution is to remain Florida governor imo.
