(KTLA) – Two female ... social media influencers say they were denied entry into a popular Los Angeles nightclub because of their size.
Ella Halikas said a bouncer told her and fellow “curvy model" Alexa Jay they couldn’t follow their friends into The Highlight Room in Hollywood.
“(Alexa) asked him, ‘Hey what’s going on? I’m with that party you just let in,’ and he said, ‘I know,’ and looked her up and down and said, ‘Not tonight,’”
The women shared their story on social media and said it has resonated with women all over the country.
“It was so dehumanizing,” said Jay. “It was like we were being looked through. If you experienced any type of discrimination like this, you know exactly how horrible and disgusting it feels.”
The women believe this problem goes beyond one nightclub. Halikas said she has received thousands of messages from other plus-sized women sharing similar stories of being turned away from bars and nightclubs.
“One of my plus-sized friends went to a club in New York City and they said, ‘Everyone else can come in,'” said Halikas. “They let in all her thin friends, got to her and said, ‘You can’t get in.’
Halikas [claimed] her career as a model had put her on runways and on the pages of Sports Illustrated magazine, but it still didn’t stop her from being turned away.
The Tao Group, operators of The Highlight Room, responded to the incident by saying:
“We are aware of their experience. The doorman on this evening worked for a third-party promotion company and we’ve removed this individual from the door effective immediately."
The women say ... they don’t believe just firing one doorman is enough. They’re hoping to work on systemic change in the industry while inspiring and empowering other plus-sized women.

Oh please. There are fire codes that limit the number of people in a bar or nightclub. Just because 2 got in doesn’t mean 4 can get in.
LOL
better, but still fat
her companion may have tipped things over
Like “tipped the scales of justice “? That’s FATIST. /s. (Not fattest)
Ya know who wants to booty dance with a hippopotamus? Another hippopotamus, or a (trouser) snake.
Then they should go to the bar you run.
Safety issue. Fat chicks would block the exits.
What part of No Fatties Allowed don’t they understand?
The reason only the "hot" women are allowed in these clubs is for the men. Without the "hot" women, men wouldn't go to the club. It's not an anti-man or anti-woman policy. It's just business.
As a woman myself, I see right through this nonsense. Women of all sizes can be attractive or unattractive. These women would've been fine with the club policy if they'd been considered the "hot" women who got into the club. (lol) Then they would've been on social media celebrating that they were selected for the club.
IMHO, if someone doesn't like what a club is doing, then don't go there. It's that simple.

Have your seeing eye dog take a look and see what he says.

Hank Johnson is against sending her to Guam.
It’s been said that a man marries a woman assuming she’ll stay that way, while a woman marries a man assuming she’ll change him. Naturally both parties are often disappointed.
I agree. But see, women don’t just not go to a place. Now these two fat rejected women believe the whole club situation needs to be systematically reformed.
Men do not do this. Only women believe this is a proper course of action. There’s a reason for the “Karen” meme.
Get me the manager is a female saying. And thats what these two entitled fatsos are doubling down on, to the point they are starting a movement against clubs that don’t give fat women free entry.
Btt!!!
Start looking for a fat lawyer.
Ugly and overweight. These “high class” clubs don’t want that in there. I cannot believe that such an ugly and overweight woman could be a model?! WTH is wrong with people.
