RUSSIAN OFFENSIVE CAMPAIGN ASSESSMENT, NOVEMBER 11
ISW ^ | Nov 11, 2022 | Karolina Hird, Grace Mappes, Riley Bailey, Kateryna Stepanenko, and Frederick W. Kagan

Posted on 11/11/2022 11:22:38 PM PST by TigerLikesRoosterNew

Ukrainian forces are completing the liberation of the western (right) bank of Kherson Oblast after the Russians retreated from it. The Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) claimed that Russian forces completed the withdrawal to the eastern (left) bank of the Dnipro River at 5am local time on November 11.[1] While contingents of Russian soldiers likely remain on the west bank, they are likely scattered throughout the Oblast and attempting to retreat as Ukrainian forces push towards the Dnipro River, although some may have remained behind to attempt to conduct partisan activities in small groups. It is unclear how many Russian soldiers remain on the west bank at this time. Russian sources noted that the withdrawal lasted three days and claimed that 20,000 Russian personnel and 3,500 units of military equipment moved across the Dnipro River.[2]

Satellite imagery corroborates statements made by both Ukrainian and Russian sources that Russian troops destroyed the Antonivsky Bridge and Railway Bridge (near Kherson City) and the Nova Kakhovka dam bridge (east of Kherson City near Nova Kakhovka) over the Dnipro River and the Darivka Bridge (northeast of Kherson City) over the Inhulets River in a final attempt to block Ukrainian advances towards central Kherson Oblast (see images in-line with text).[3] Geolocated satellite imagery also indicates that Russian troops have prepared first and second lines of defense south of the Dnipro River and will likely continue efforts to consolidate positions on the left bank in the coming days.[4]

Biden, Pelosi, Schumer all support sending in taxpayer funds and weapons to the war in the Ukraine because extortion, fraud  and graft operations based in the Ukraine keeps the current Biden led Democrat regime alive. Biden and Congressional leadership relies on their cut of operations like Hunter's Burisma, or for example, 'technical support' funds misappropriated. We don't control who gets the  money Biden 'claims' to send to the Urkaine. The link at the bottom of this post gives you an idea of the Biden regime's reliance on the Ukraine for funding.

This fantasy is not helping the Ukrainian citizens. Zelensky attacks even when American advisors don't think he should because Zelensky wants to give the impression he's in control and driving the Russians out. He does it to keep the optics needed for corrupt leaders around the world to pretend to shove 'foreign aid' at the Ukraine, while actually funding their own empires.

The Russians took 40% of power grid down in Kyiv and can take it the rest of the way down, forcing 3 or 4 million people in Kyiv to evacuate in search of heat and water. How does this help?

The news issued a blackout (no pun intended) on blackouts in Kyiv because it revealed the true nature of the challenges facing Zelensky - where to evacuate millions of people?

Kyiv had 12 hour blackouts 5 days ago and was unable to keep the power on in the current weather when the temperatures are going down and more power will be needed.

Fox news reported hospitals and medical treatments were already hard to obtain because of power and water interruptions.
There was nothing to stop the Russians from continuing to take down the powergrid except Zelensky, and he is ignoring the Kyiv situation because to get more money  and weapons donated to the Ukraine, he has to make it look like he's relentless attacking like a gladiator about to finish off his oponent, when in fact Zelensky's about to have to deal with relocating millions of people.

There are not sufficient replacement parts for the old power technology and to get water out of the ground, you need power. Millions without electricity and losing access to water. This isn't winning.

To conceal the bad news from the west, the news and power outtage maps stopped updating so it's likely Kyiv is even darker, colder, and has less water now. But if the condition of Kyiv was known, the willingess of the public to keep pouring money into a losing battle, into the globalists puppet regime Zelensky represents, will dry up too. The citizens won't see the money but Biden and others who use the Ukraine to fund their grasping power and corruption rely on that 'foreign aid' which is divided among the blobalists.

I checked the website https://poweroutage.com/ua/ and found they are hiding blackout information and see this message: "Due to the ongoing conflict, and in cooperation with the Ukrainian Government and the NCRECP, the collection and distribution of power outage data for the UA is currently disabled."

Remember Biden extorting Ukrainian leadership to fire the prosecutor investigating Hunter's fraudulent dealings in the Ukraine? Remember Pelosi's SON, Schumer's Son, Hunter and Jim Biden (brother to Joe) are all mules carrying money to and from the Ukraine. At the link below you can see the tip of the massive international corruption iceberg in the Ukraine and understand why Joe Biden keeps giving billions in 'aid' to the Ukraine (some of which never reaches the ukraine!) in order to keep the cash cow alive.

Support for Zelensky/Ukraine is support for Biden/Deep State

The citizens are cold and struggling to maintain living conditions while Zelensky and others divide up 'foreign aid' amongst themselves. Prayers up for the citizens caught in the middle.

Because I keep pointing out the citizens are caught in the middle, and exposing the lies behind the 'narrative' that Zelensky's troops are winning (to justify more funding) is SO unpopular, some freepers launch ad hominem attacks, (e.g., someone had a mental meltdown and accused me of being a commie pedophile). They do that to shut down the truth about the 'optics' battle to falsely portray the Ukraine as 'winning'. How much more money will the Biden regime be allowed to grift off of so-called 'Ukrainian aid'?

The freeper pointed to the fact that Russia has many 'time zones' compared with the Ukrainian's single time zone to make the case that a big bully is beating up on a little country, but this never seems to sink into their thinking when they talk about who is winning the actual war.

The Russians were aware the bridge was going to be blown so they removed troops. They will return  in a few weeks and it won't be pretty. Who knows what happened to the power grid(s) in the last few days. The Ukrainian optics always claim they 'won' this or that while they have to hide the fact that they can't keep the lights on, water running etc., have burned through most of their troops and can't win.

America doesn't belong in the conflict. The South Eastern US is already struggling to get heating fuel and diesel and the nationwide supply chain is floundering, with a potential railroad strike delayed to early December for political reasons. Sending money to Biden and other globalists' corruption satellite doesn't help the Ukrainian citizens nor AMerica's citizens. "Foreign Aid" to the Ukraine isn't reaching people we want to help, and is draining the US of TAX PAYER money and weapons we cannot afford.

The support for Ukraine is the support for resistance to Russian imperialism which caused untold amount of suffering to Ukrainians and other neighbors of Russia. It is much older than globalism and naturally draw more visceral reaction. It won’t surprise me that Biden and his ilks could find a way to line their pocket if they see an opening. That does not negate the fact that the resistance is justified and Russians should be kicked out of Ukraine.

In the end, Russian imperialism is the root cause and fight against globalism turned into an useful pretext. I thought this would happen eventually.

Ukraine and Russia will never become disentangled. Geography, history and demographics will see to that. Kind of like if Scotland and Wales gained true independence and left the U.K. The English would still be in both countries. A lot of the tension which led to this war could have been lessened if the Ukraine leadership post 2014 had not embarked on a shortsighted anti russian culture and linguistic crusade. Zelenksy himself said Poroshenko was being unwise.

Biden, Pelosi and Shumer (and their sons) don’t wait for ‘an opening.’ They’ve been pillaging and extorting, and being extorted in return for their crimes in the the Ukraine, which our CIA helped overthrow in 2014-2015.

This current conflict is the NATO alliance trying to take regions of the Ukraine from which they can launch missiles into the Crimea. This has been known and warned about by nations around the world for decades.

The Deep State, of which Zelensky and Bidens Joe/Hunter/Jim proactively cultivated the Ukraine for their purposes, and rely on their hold on the Ukraine for power.

Many people suffered as conquered subjects of another country. Sometimes it lasted for centuries, and their language almost disappeared. However, given the chance, they could rise up and form the country of their own. Finland is one such example.

There are others in the world. Once they have their own country, they will try to regain their own national identity, which inevitably leads to some conflict with outside migrants who settled in their land. Especially when they were sent to rule local people.

Having their own language is probably the most important thing to establish a national identity. You could try to accommodate those settlers. I know this is a tricky subject. But it is not enough to warrant full-scale invasion and outright occupation. Eventually they have to learn to adapt to the political change.

“Eventually they have to learn to adapt to the political change.”

More likely, as a lot of history demonstrates,if a minority feels oppressed they seek to create their own independent country or they seek union with their fellow cultural and language practioners in a neighbouring country or region. Suggesting that Russians in Ukraine must learn to live in Ukraine in Ukraine as loyal subjects and jetison their identity and language is not realistic. Should Kurds jetison their struggle against the Turks just to fit into the box of Turkish nationalist aspirations? Or the Karen into the Burmese state? And so on and so forth
.

A lot of Russians in Ukraine, no doubt, see Russia as a big brother coming to help them against a bully in the guise of Ukrainian nationalism. It doesn’t matter what a westerner thinks about this.

I have posted on this forum for years, read many threads. I’ve seen you for a very long time. Seen most people for a very long time.

Cranked has an account from 2009 and yet the first I’ve seen him is the war with Russia/Ukraine.

Cranked is clearly just a troll account that was recently activated. He also routinely links to websites that promote North Korea and China, on top of the usual Russian propaganda, and has never acknowledged or explained this. IOW, he’s a literal communist.

Too bad there's never been a legitimate vote in any of these places that would provide evidence for this claim of mass resentment by Russian ethnics in Ukraine (Zelenskyy himself has, as his first language, Russian, and was born in the East).

Unless you think 86% approval of joining Russia in Kherson--with video of Russkies taking the votes by going door to door carrying AK47s, or 120% voter turnout in Sevestopol, Crimea, is on the up and up. The people in the Donbass never got a vote. They were just invaded and, since 2014, have suffered the presence of at least 30,000 troops coming and going as they please, with 65 year old men being conscripted and sent to die in the past few months.

With that logic, we are doomed to invade and rape the s*** out of Mexico, since geography, history and demographics require us to behave like Russians and go on a rape spree.

It is up to them. They can chose to live Ukrainians of Russian descent or stick to their identity, refusing change. If they do not like it in Ukraine, they end up living in Russia eventually. However, I heard there are many Russian-speaking people fighting on Ukrainian side against Russia army. It remains to be seen what they will do after the war.

This war solidly established Ukrainian identity, forged in blood. So Putin's dream is dead. Ukraine will move out of Russo-sphere and join “Europe.” They would be more like Poland. I heard an interesting allegation: some EU members are balking at letting Ukraine into EU because Ukraine will be the fifth largest country in terms of population and they worry that they lose their political clout in EU. Then I heard a news from France that some French intellectuals want French government to be more proactive in helping Ukraine because, in their view, the center of political gravity in Europe is shifting to the east
