A flurry of phone calls and texts at 2am taught me that some long-standing MAGA stalwarts are now preparing to ditch Donald Trump because they didn’t get the flood of feel good results last night. This attitude is incorrect, and sober analysis proves it.
The “OMG RED WAVE!!!” brigade are now the most vociferously disappointed. They set expectations so high – all the while carrying water for a Republican National Committee and party leadership led by the deeply unpopular Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell and Ronna Romney McDaniel. Now they’re upset.
Up and down the country, McLeadership candidates and strategies came up short of expectations. Not even all that short, to be fair. But still, deflating enough that people are already playing the blame game. Two can play.
Firstly, DC-based Republicans think its enough to run against something, rather than for something. They also fundamentally underestimated the appeal of Democrat messaging on abortion, student loan forgiveness, and the cringe-inducing “our democracy”. Honestly, we all did. People really are getting dumber and more pliant and there’s no ignoring that anymore, ...
Not only has it not happened it will never happen as long as Trump is alive and well. DS is lucky he got to run in a .. what now seems to be.. a solidly Republican state. Had Trump run for gov of FL he would have won with a much bigger majority. Eg … how many boat rallies have been held for DS in FL ? That’s right. ZERO.
I’m one state alone, people elected a dead person AND an addled mentally disabled person
Yes. And cheating. As Mike Lindell has said repeatedly "WE HAVE TO GET RID OF THE MACHINES"
I hate Republicans with a passion.....the GOPe/RINO’s are what’s wrong and I was hoping to get larger majorities because I don’t think McCarthy will be anything but a cowardly pain in the arse and Scalise ain’t nothing to write home about either.....get Jim Jordan in there where we at least have a chance to get something done and as for the Senate in which we have a slight chance for a very small majority but need someone who isn’t afraid to kick arse and take names! They’re ready to throw Trump to the trash heap because a goodly amount of those in the Congress have a pair...(but MTG does) but they’re threatened by her. I’ll stand with Trump until I’m in an urn......he’s done so much for our country and I won’t desert him.
Yes, and now he’s here that he is blaming his mail-order bride for helping pick candidates. Pretty lame. I’m done with him. Others can still support him if they want. Not me.
Bad candidates. Many selected by Trump
“Just throw your sucker in the dirt and head on home”
congrats - those are all words
More accurately, place the blame on those who were the responsible parties. Ronna McDaniel. Mitch McConnell. Kevin McCarthy.
You got that right.....send no lips (McConnell), lyin’ lips (McCarthy) and fish lips (McDaniel) to Timbuktu!!!
Summing it up from the last few posts,
1) Mail in ballots.
2) Place the blame on those who were the responsible parties: Ronna McDaniel, Mitch McConnell, Kevin McCarthy.
3) The majority of Americans are just plain stupid.
Blaming Trump only serves to divide US even further. Don’t fall for it.
Too bad you can't count to three. There is a lot of truth to that though.
I don’t blame Trump personally... but its pretty clear a lot of introspection has to be done.. of the GOP can’t win big in this environment... then something is wrong and don’t throw ‘fraud’ in my face as the reason this went down the way it did.
Yep.... and got plenty more where they came from.
It’s not a fracture. Trump was always all about Trump, and the unfortunate thing is that he is still all about Trump.
But the thing that was his brilliant inspiration - and what we need to thank him for - is that he gave a voice to us “deplorables.” He may have done it for totally self-serving reasons, that is, he was a showman and we were the show, but still, he did it. It doesn’t matter why.
So I think there’s a lot to thank him for in that area.
He was very weak against his Dem enemies, was lousy in his advisors (probably because nobody wanted to work for him, since he might turn on them at any moment), and I think he never really understood that he was actually the CIC and President and never did any of the things he could and should have done.
But that’s water under the bridge.
We’ve got to regroup and defend our rights, our lives and our sacred honor...meaning, our freedom from leftist tyranny and our freedom of conscience.
But this has to be political and institutional and thus needs a leader...but not Trump.
Good points!
After all, McDaniel, McConnell and McCarthy were running from state to state holding rallies for any number of Congressional and State level candidates, didn’t they?
I am certain that they payed a kings ransom out of their own pockets to do so, too. Right?
“McLeadership”
Great term for McCarthy, McConnell and McDaniel
DeSantis also signed a law limiting ballot drop boxes’ hours of availability, requiring they be monitored by public officials, tightening the procedures for getting a mail-in ballot, creating new voter-ID requirements, and making it a crime for anyone to possess or deliver more than two mail-in ballots per election. This is significant because mail-in balloting is the kind most susceptible to vote fraud (which is why France prohibited it in 1975).

Whether he is or isn’t responsible, he’s losing a lot of support with his petty personal rivalries. When he first ran for president people were wondering whether he could put his ego behind him and concentrate on the tasks at hand. He could. Now people are asking whether he still can.
“Yep.... and got plenty more where they came from.”

People looking for a scapegoat for last night - and they are blaming who ?? The man who singlehandedly brought back the GOP from the dead. The man who singlehandedly drives voter enthusiasm. Such ingratitude.
DeSantis went from a razor thin margin in 2018 to a landslide in 2022. I think he deserves a bit more credit.
