Trump warns DeSantis against 2024 White House bid, saying it wouldn’t be ‘good’ for GOP

Former President Trump in a new interview warned Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) against running for president in 2024.

“I don’t know if he is running. I think if he runs, he could hurt himself very badly. I really believe he could hurt himself badly,” Trump told Fox News in an interview late Monday after a rally in Ohio. “I think he would be making a mistake. I think the base would not like it. I don’t think it would be good for the party.”

“Any of that stuff is not good. You have other people that possibly will run, I guess,” Trump added. “I don’t know if he runs. If he runs, he runs.”

The former president also suggested he knew unflattering information about DeSantis that he’d be willing to share if the two were to face off in a primary.

“I would tell you things about him that won’t be very flattering — I know more about him than anybody — other than, perhaps, his wife,” Trump said.

Yeah, I agree

He let “them” beat him

Love him and forever grateful for defeating hilLIAR and enacting policies that were good for our Nation

But he talks too much and doesnt take advice when to cool his jets and soften his negatives

I agree I was an early boarder on the Trump train. I stepped off today. PDJT needs to sit down and shut up. I have a lot of respect for his accomplishments but he needs to back off.

Trump is running in '24. Desantis will get crushed if he tries to go against Trump.

You will be voting for Trump in Nov. ‘24.

Get used to the idea. Where else are you going to go?

Trump is no John Quincy Adams (elected to the House) or Andrew Johnson (elected to the Senate).

Yes. And that big flag, racing to endorse the antiTrump in Colorado.. That endorsement was not a subtle hint of desantis intentions.

However, I think the ‘hail Mary’ is the expected indictment of President Trump, so no direct challenge would be required…. Might even assist covertly, unlike his pals ‘lying’ Ryan and LizzieBelle Cheney who proudly plot and plan to prevent President Trump from ever getting on the ballot.. I will not vote for a neocon ever again..

Do not be surprised if the Dems back off now.

I agree, I don't think they even need to worry about indicting Trump now. He's done himself in without their help and he's not going to be much of a rallying cry anymore.

I think he'll probably try to go third party, though. But even so, the Dems have nothing to gain by indicting him.

>>So much of life is timing. It is DeSantis time.

DeSantis could serve a game-changing 8 years.

Trump would be a lame duck as soon as he is re-elected.

Yup! It’s time for Trump to retire to the golf course. Most of his candidates were already going to win their races and he helped lose the important ones. This should have been a bloodbath, instead it’s just a whimper. The three-way divide in the Conservative half of America will be its downfall. RINOs, Conservatives, and MAGA/Trumpers for those that are confused. Libs will unite behind things like abortion rights, conservatives seems to be split on the issue.

After yesterday, I promise you that Trump will not even win the Republican primary in ‘24. Even worse, if he does run as either a Republican or an Independent, he’ll water down the conservative vote (think Ross Perot) and Gavin Effing Newscum will be our next president. Trust me, you don’t want that.

I think this is about where I am. Think before you speak, I would say to him. And get your children under control. The coarseness of their conversations/opinions are off putting and unnecessary. Everything is about him. Sorry sir, no it’s not. Last night results were a self inflicted wound, I believe. No unity, no unified thinking. Everyone on the National stage wanted it to be about them. Not what Republicans expect. When the message from the people is so clear, how do they accuse Democrats of ignoring voters when they are doing the same.

The Scriptures enjoin us to pray constantly, earnestly and sincerely.
God didn’t say, “Leave me a note and I’ll see what I can do.”

By writing this invective to TR, in public (forum) for all to see undercuts your intent to invoke some type of agreement of the insult from God.
It is neither earnest nor sincere.
Frankly, it isn’t even a legitimate prayer.

TR; I don’t agree with you.
But this type of pseudo-piety should not be countenanced on FR.

I did not set the stage to sow strife. Take your sanctimonious words into your prayer closet.

Agree. Trump needs to fade away. But his ego is so gargantuan that he won’t. And we will suffer for it.

Obama, who I detest, at least managed to help Dems like Fetterman and Warnock.

U have TDS.

No, I live in Pennsylvania, and worked my butt off for the Republican ticket (Mastriano and Oz + Congressman and State Rep). I helped deliver my county and region to those Republican candidates, by large margins, but then I wake up to THIS from Trump?

Donald Trump just sent Ron DeSantis a 2024 warning shot

Remember when Trump and Hannity shivved Barnette just before the primary in May, and we all heard about how Trump was playing 8 dimensional chess, was flushing out the RINOs, and knew what he was doing?

Flashback: Dr. Oz has a fan at Mar-a-Lago: Melania Trump

Further Flashback: The MAGA establishment looks to crush an unwelcome outsider

And THIS: Trump, GOP rivals unload on Kathy Barnette as she rises in Pa. Senate primary

So how'd that work out?

Nah, I have every right to be pissed, and so does every other Pennsylvania Freeper who now has Communist Governor Shapiro and the mentally crippled and even more Communist Senator Fetterman on our backs.

And it's ALL TRUMP's FAULT!
