US military forces 'fully prepared' to cross into Ukraine

U.S. military forces are "fully prepared" to cross into Ukraine at a moment's notice to fight a war against Russia.

The Army's 101st Airborne Division, which boasts the "Screaming Eagles" moniker, has been deployed to Europe for the first time since World War II, practicing with live tank and artillery rounds not far from the Black Sea, across which Russia has taken territory from Ukraine, including Crimea, at a forward operating site on NATO's eastern flank, according to CBS News.

Brig. Gen. John Lubas, the division's deputy commander, stressed this is "not a training deployment" but rather a "combat deployment" from which his forces "need to be ready to fight tonight, depending on how the situation escalates across the border."

Col. Edwin Matthaidess, commander of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, told the news outlet these troops are the closest U.S. unit to the fighting in Ukraine, still raging more than seven months into Russia's full-scale invasion began. "It keeps us on our toes," he said.

The roughly 4,700 soldiers from Fort Campbell, Kentucky, are about three miles away from Romania's border with Ukraine, conducting joint ground and air assault exercises with Romanian forces meant to simulate battles that Ukrainian forces are waging against Russian invaders.

"It's not just about defending NATO territory," Charlie D'Agata, senior foreign correspondent for CBS News, said in one report from an air base in Romania. "If the fight escalates, and NATO partners are under threat, they're fully prepared to cross over into Ukrainian territory if ordered to do so…"

Sounds a bit like the “Chamberlin Plan”.

I think CBS is run by idiots. I think people worried about the US getting involved are way, way, way ahead of any reasonable curve.

I believe that people are so hungry for attention they interpret “prepared” as inevitable. And the run around screaming their heads off.

I think we can both agree that we want our military “prepared.” Well, I do. Your Russian Army has clearly not been prepared. Christ, it is the motto of the Boy Scouts.

Prepared doesn’t mean massing at the borders. And 4,700 troops? One would need to be mentally challenged to think we would enter a conflict against the Russians with 4,700 troops. Those guys think they are good…but they aren’t that good.

So why say the unit is “fully prepared” to enter Ukraine? Do you think that’s a good way to secure peace with Russia?

Say…I haven’t owned the Russian Army since playing Risk 10 years ago! You bring back fond family time memories. BTW…how’s you boy Biden tracking? Pullin all the right strings for ya? You seem happy with his performance. Must be the viagra!

Would you ever think a US unit would ever suggest they were not prepared? For anything? Can you imagine that story’s headline?

You are just arguing to argue.

This better not happen. If it does, Biden needs to be impeached.

""It's not just about defending NATO territory," Charlie D'Agata, senior foreign correspondent for CBS News, said in one report from an air base in Romania. "If the fight escalates, and NATO partners are under threat,"

So basically they think they can do whatever they want under whatever rationalization they dream up. "I felt threatened." Anyone who thinks Russia is the aggressor in this conflict is wonderfully naive.

We didn’t “so suddenly” pull out of Afghanistan. President Trump had negotiated to complete the pull out by April 1st. However there was a great deal that was not done by that time so this administration delayed the pull out until late that summer, and it still was not time enough to help all those who needed to escape the clutches of the Taliban. Since this was a follow through of all that was negotiated during President Trumps administration, it was hardly likely to be something that was suddenly planned by NATO to annoy Putin.

Yes, if the purpose is deterrence. What is the point of claiming an unprepared deterrent?

“Everyone might think of stocking up on large doses of pain killers...”

And just how does one do that? Drs won’t prescribe such quantities, and the street drugs are heavily-laced with Fentanyl, the “ultimate pain killer”.

“Unless, of course, NATO counters the S-400 system with networked stealth aircraft. The presence of stealth aircraft can be detected, but missiles can’t lock onto them.”

Wasn’t aware that we tested our stealth aircraft against the S-400. Might you have a link so that I can read up on it?

Ah, the Afghanistan rout was Trump’s fault? Kabul Airport instead of Bagram? Peak Tali fighting season instead of winter? Waxing an innocent family with a missile? Trump planned all that?

No, the same anti-American clowns are running our national security with zero accountability.

One year later we have a military that is more woke than ever, troops on food stamps, patriots drummed out over the jab, and recruiting down about 50%.

Oh yeah, have you seen the “strategic” petroleum reserve? Nearly 1/2 drained in a matter of months. Our enemies could not have done a better job of “preparing” the US for war.

If US forces do go into Ukraine, I hope they will be fully equiped to do nuclear dirty bomb cleanup work. Tonight both major media and public media are discussing the claim Russia has made the Ukraine will attack their own land. Which, of course Zelenskyy has said is absolutely false.
