Trump: ‘Very disloyal’ if Pence, other Cabinet members run in 2024

President Trump said he would find it “very disloyal” if former Vice President Mike Pence or other members of his former Cabinet sought the GOP presidential nomination in 2024, seeking to send a warning to a number of figures weighing potential White House bids.

“Many of them have said they would never run if I run, so we’ll see if that turns out to be true,” Trump said Friday during a brief phone interview with Fox News Radio host Brian Kilmeade. “I think it would be very disloyal if they did, but that’s OK, too.”

Trump boasted that “the polls have me leading by 40, 50 points” and said he would decide on whether to pursue another presidential bid “in the not-too-distant future.”

The former president has not said whether he intends to run, but has openly flirted with seeking a return to the White House.

Most polls show Trump as the clear favorite to reclaim the Republican nomination if he were to run, but several other high-profile Republicans like Pence, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, among others, are also reportedly considering a bid for the White House.

Earlier this week, Pence took several swipes at Trump, warning conservatives against veering too far toward “unprincipled populism” during a speech at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C.

Donald Trump on 2024 - It would be very disloyal for Pence and my other cabinet members to run.

Agree 100 percent. It would confirm their self-serving duplicity. Many wannabee hangers-on surrounding ALL men/women of accomplishment are nothing more than parasites.
Very few are True Allies. Opportunists surround all who dare and succeed. And, opportunists are NOT to be admired. They are to be shunned as pariahs.

Maybe Pence said he wouldn’t run and then had time to think about holding all of that power and worldwide influence.
He wouldn’t be the first to change his mind after the passage of time.

After The Big Steal of year 2020, I have no use for Mike Pence, but he is free to throw his hat in the ring if he choses. A man has to first be ‘loyal’ to himself. Don’t forget his wife Karen might want that life as well, maybe even more than Mike wants it. She may be chompin at the bit, deluding herself over his chances.

Well, if he’s not running why would he care? He’s running.

Many will be saying that, if they react to Pence at all.
For most, he has already been ‘Unpersoned’ by his own deeds.

Trump said it would be ok, too. But to paraphrase something Mark Levin said, it’s the whole culture of the Republican party that is disloyal. He has never seen so many disloyal people in ANY organization. The Republican party is filled with so many disloyal people it is unbelievable. They want to be celebrated by people who attacked their boss or their administration.

That’s ridiculous. We’re not a freaking monarchy, and nobody owes the Presidency to anyone else. Let the voters decide.

There are some profound words from Levin. Did you hear this on his radio program?

The disloyalty of many republicans is as strange as it is damaging. Maybe, for a long time, people like Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham SC, Asa Hutchinson ARK, Robert Portman OH were the core of the party, go along to get along.

Maybe they were shaken up by Trump and suddenly felt on the outside of things, so they push back in various ways.
Sabotage is left on the table if it injures Trump or similar MAGAs.

Tough thing here. This is almost kinda beta. Like when a guy tells his friends that they cant date a woman because he is set on it.

That being said, how does Pence think he has a following? Out of touch.

If Pence and Trump have parted ways then I can’t see Pence being beholden to that. He is obligated to do the best for the country, whatever he thinks that might be.

If you have a sufficient enough presence, and you have the backing of never-trumpers then you can go around the country pretending to campaign while getting free room and board.

I don't know why everyone who leaves office above a certain level doesn't run for president.

That’s what a lot of people do but I’ll say that is worse than being disloyal. You are scamming people if you are not really running but running to just enrich yourself and get free stuff or to use it as a resume enhancer.

None of whom matter.
But hey bring it on.

How relevant is Pence by himself? Pence has very little support among the Republican voting base.
