The disloyalty of many republicans is as strange as it is damaging. Maybe, for a long time, people like Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham SC, Asa Hutchinson ARK, Robert Portman OH were the core of the party, go along to get along.

Maybe they were shaken up by Trump and suddenly felt on the outside of things, so they push back in various ways.
Sabotage is left on the table if it injures Trump or similar MAGAs.

Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

How is the disloyalty of RINOs strange?

And there is no such thing as “go along to get along”. Those who aid tyrants and demagogues are of them, not of us.

“Maybe they were shaken up by Trump and suddenly felt on the outside of things, so they push back in various ways.”

There are two main readings for disloyalty and pushback to Trump, I believe, and they aren’t really ideological. Trump threatened exposure of their dirty dealings for generating personal revenue. And pure/simple jealousy. Money and jealousy are motives inspiring most crimes in general, and this is no different.
