Nobody owns the presidency. They can run if they want to. They won’t get any votes…

And there’s the rub. A little polling and common sense will tell even these egomaniacs that they have no support. So why run? Three reasons: It damages Trump ahead of November (if that’s your purpose)… It builds a war chest that can be traded for power down the road… Or it positions you for Vice President if you are careful not to trash Trump.

A politician’s first loyalty should be to the country, not to some other politician in a “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” mindset. I have zero problem with a former underling running against a former president. And that’s regardless of who the president is.

Maybe you don’t see it but Trump is very loyal. He tests people and sometimes you still get fooled. It hurts a lot. Trump expects loyalty and gives loyalty. It hurts when trust is broken.

Loyalty is important to Trump. Loyalty is not important to politicians.

In government, loyalty to the country and your ideals is more important than loyalty to an individual. We shouldn’t elevate personal loyalty to a political leader as some kind of ultimate virtue, because it isn’t.

A politician's first loyalty should be to the country... That ship sailed a long time ago. Politicians care about themselves and that's about it.

In the end, Loyalty by it’s nature is ALWAYS personal.

There are a few people out there who would make a good president. We definitely have a deeper bench than does the DNC. Years of control by the Clintons followed by Soros has left them with no actual leaders who aren’t frauds, lunatics, or criminals. Their entire bench is made up of hacks and puppets.

Traditionally, though, you don’t run against an incumbent of your own party. And since the election was openly stolen from Trump, he is our incumbent. Future Repub presidential candidates should put their ambitions on hold and back him… not out of loyalty to him, but loyalty to us. Presuming, of course, that Trump himself doesn’t go off the rails somehow. Support for him isn’t blind, but it is firm.

Trump needs to compete to be our nominee. I’m nervous that Trump haters could again cause his defeat. I’m nervous that Trump will do nothing to win over the haters.

I agree...I am not blindly following anyone just because of who they are. If they want my vote they need to earn it. Tell me and the country just what you are going to do. Getting this country back on track is important...for all of us.

Pence needs to give it up and make amends with Trump. Like Newt Gingrich, Pence can do a lot of good without running for President.

LOL Panties are very wrinkled at this time. Twisting into
a wad once too often. Chances are we'll be seeing a great
quantity of shiny hineys in the coming months.
shiny hineys with the exception of one, not so shiny (but rather dirty) hiney.

I like Trump, but personal loyalty in politics ends when the time in office ends. No one who worked with or for him owes him a favor now of not running against him in 2024 (not that I’d likely vote for them).

I didn’t say he hasn’t or won’t. I did say I support his candidacy. READ THE DAMNED POST. He cannot just accuse the others of disloyalty.

I like what you said, I will be taking notes on who is disloyal and who is faithful, and you can be sure that I am not alone.

Pence is garbage if he runs against President Trump.
