General Motors announced that its new $300,000 Cadillac Celestiq, an electric vehicle, will get just 300 miles of range per charge — or about one mile for every thousand dollars spent.

As part of General Motors’s goal to sell only electric vehicles (EVs) by 2035, the car company’s new Cadillac Celestiq — starting at $300,000, before delivery fees and options — will be hand-built to customer preferences, according to a report by Business Insider. Production of the Cadillac EV is set to begin in December 2023.

“just 300 miles per charge”

really? That is what most cars get for a tank of gas. 300 mpc is pretty darn good

My EV gets 300 miles (realistically about 270 miles while running the A/C and driving with a lead foot). But it didn't cost $300K.

And my small ICE pickup gets about 350-400 miles on one tank (25 gallon). It's old and gets only 15 mpg. But it didn't cost $300K either. LOL

or about one mile for every thousand dollars spent.

I’m pretty sure the battery is rechargeable

I’m no fan of electric cars but this article is obviously written y someone who does not like them at all.

“Its cool but not worth the money.”

It’s a boulevard car. Certainly very nice interior and other appointments. Rolling jewelry.

Need to go over 100 or so miles? Take your jet.

“That is what most cars get for a tank of gas. 300 mpc is pretty darn good.”

No, it’s not.

And that’s under perfect conditions, which seldom exist. Buy one and find out.

My old 2008 Nissan 4WD pickup with 140k miles goes 480 on the highway. My 2016 F150 goes 1,000. Wife’s 2019 Honda Passport goes 550.

EVs are great as urban runabouts. For cross-country trips, mountain areas, cold weather or towing they are a joke. That’s why 78% of EV owners also own an ICE car. That’s also why all those EVs got left to burn in Florida when the hurricane evacuation happened. The owners all took their ICE cars so they could actually get away from the hurricane.

75% of the Lithium batteries imported from China are made in Uighur Muslim Concentration Camps.

So, is his car made with Slave Labor?

Government Motors has become like the US Dept of Defense

Political correctness ranks above efficiency, effectiveness, or common sense.

That happens when your bosses are leftist politicians

People that can afford a $300K chariot don’t care about the cost of anything.

From what I hear, there may not be many Cadillac dealers left to sell them. I know I wouldn’t want to be one.

“As part of General Motors’s goal to sell only electric vehicles (EVs) by 2035”

Mass delusion.

CA and NY say 2030.

Almost every car company has an announced “goal” of the 2030s.

And NOBODY will make it.

And they all KNOW it.

Friggin’ bizarre.

Yes, very inventive 0__0

I see they took design cues from an Allante crossed with a Pacer.

A higher cost does not get you longer range in an electric car any more than it does in a gas car. Strange premise of article.
