Trump, Reacting to Pending Jan. 6 Subpoena, Repeats Election Lies in Letter

WASHINGTON — Former President Donald J. Trump responded on Friday to a promised subpoena from the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 assault with a lengthy, rambling letter that attacked the panel’s work, reiterated false claims of widespread voting fraud and presaged a potentially bruising battle over whether he would be compelled to testify about his role in the riot and his efforts to subvert the 2020 election.

In a 14-page missive that did not address whether he would comply with the subpoena, Mr. Trump perpetuated the same lies that had fueled the attack and boasted about the size of the crowd that amassed to hear him speak before marching to the Capitol and staging a violent siege.

The former president has indicated privately to aides that he would be willing to testify to the House panel but would like to do so live, according to a person close to him, a prospect that would prevent video of him from being clipped or edited in a manner he dislikes. The letter he released on Friday — a conspiracy theory-filled rehash of his many grievances and false assertions — underscored the risks for the committee of giving Mr. Trump an unfettered public platform.

They are very worried.

Their six-year jihad against Donald Trump is a failure.

God forbid that Trump is allowed to articulate his position and allowed to exert his First Amendment rights.

Trump would repeat his claims, the committee would repeat their claims, and in the end nothing would be done.

What would be done with a reasonably structured appearance before the committee is deliverance to a national audience with clear understanding of the dem fiasco.

Ten of the 14 pages of Trump's October 13 letter to the Committee objectively sets out credible facts of 2020 election irregularities in the major swing states that would alter the outcome of the election many times over.

That fact along with a stipulation that Trump could trade question for question would no doubt cause the committee great embarrassment.

The New York Times is so disgusting.

You’d think it was a background media outlet
in a decaying Batman film city.

I’m am convinced there are places I’d enjoy seeing in New
York, but the city is about as repulsive to me as it could
possibly be.

But in 2016 it was fine to say that the election was stolen from Hillary Clinton
This is how commies work
2000 election was stolen
2004 election was stolen
2016 election was stolen but don’t you dare say the 2020 election was stolen

New York Time NEVER STOPS LYING.

They should be ashamed of themselves.

Or humiliated. No One with a brain BELIEVES THEM.

All of which Trump supporters believe, none of which Trump opponents believe. Preaching to the choir.

Even if there was anything Trump said that the committee wanted to hear then what's in it for them? And as I said Trump will be under oath. No way that's ever going to happen.

This situation is like being an abused spouse where the abuser owns the mass media and the education system and insists on their opinions being called facts and your being called lies.

People have divorced over far less burdensome issues.

Let’s see how honest the counting is this November, and what the supposed results are. If there’s more of this distortion of the popular will, it’s time for more serious action and in my view that is the case on both sides of the border which creates the potential for a coalition of anti-globalists (rich in resources) to emerge. I would love to see how the big talkers who like to talk down to us will do without our resources or our taxes. Maybe they can gain a new understanding of reality and who’s actually lying by spending that quality time with each other and without us.

In the days of my grandparents it was considered safe to assume what you read in books and in mainstream media could be trusted. Democrats changed all that.

Gee, the dude from Infowars got a 1B$ judgement for saying sandy hook was a hoax.

I wonder when NYT, CNN, etc will get a judgement for all the years claiming Russia, Russia, Russia?

It took 3 presstitutes to spew this garbage while ignoring the REAL Provable evidence and denying everything Trump listed.
Maybe if we had common sense, licensing, regulation, drug testing,,,for journalists using a High Capacity transmission device for compensation or gain, this would stop them from the constant lies they tell

...none of which Trump opponents believe.
Big assumption. There can be no doubt many R voters were seduced by Rinos and the 24/7 MSM.

Even if there was anything Trump said that the committee wanted to hear then what's in it for them?
The committee seeks only to embarrass and compromise Trump and likewise Trump seeks to embarrass the committee and awaken the voters by fully broadcasting the facts.

And as I said Trump will be under oath. No way that's ever going to happen.
Fortunately, it is for Trump and his legal team to make that determination; if it is regarded as unworkable then it could be one of the stipulations.

For the moment, the R's should be making every effort to get the letter in its entirety before the public, it ought to be 90% of what they are talking about. If invited to news programs they should require that issue be talked about first.

Have a nice weekend.

...a conspiracy theory-filled rehash of his many grievances and false assertions...

This is a set of sweeping, unsupported assertions about the content of the letter by the NYT. What happened to them?

Maybe the NYT should practice a little responsible journalism and address a few of the so-called "false" assertions in the letter by President Trump.

Of course that is asking too much from an organization that seems more like a propaganda machine for the Democrat Party.

Did not the NYT have to recant many of their claims about the Russian Hoax?

Would not a responsible journalist take a look at the massive fraud documented in the 2020 election? There were red flags all over the place, from bellwether states and counties, unconstitutional actions by politicians, a rush to anoint a winner, multiple sets of Electoral voters, and more...

Why is not the NYT doing its job?
