CPAC backpedals on pro-Russia tweet as some U.S. conservatives back Putin
Washington Post ^ | 10/1/2022 | Isaac Arnsdorf

The Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday tweeted — and then hours later deleted — a message that called on Democrats to “end the gift-giving to Ukraine” while featuring a fluttering Russian flag. The tweet also referred to “Ukraine-occupied territories,” appearing to legitimize Russian President Vladimir Putin’s claims to annex provinces based on a referendum that the U.S. and allies view as illegal.

CPAC chairman Matt Schlapp on Saturday said the tweet did not clear the normal approval process because he was traveling for a conference in Australia. “Due to my travel into a distant time zone it was never approved per usual,” he said in a text message.

“Invasion,” “invaded,” etc. is relative to user.

They have are terms primarily touted and often used by the Western/US/UK/EU/NATO propaganda-ridden ‘yellow journalism’ media.

Ask the majority of those Russian speaking Ukrainians in the 4 regions/oblasts that just voted (twice - 2015 and now 2022) to join Russia if the Russians “invaded” or Russian’s actions were an “invasion.”

Again, relative to user.

And again, go to the 4 regions/oblasts and ask the majority of those that voted to join Russia if Putin/Russia started the war/conflict.

The flip side of it is that everyone I've come to see as a corrupt, duplicitous @sshole in Washington over the last 2-3 decades has been clamoring for U.S. intervention on Ukraine's side. That alone should at least give normal, rational Americans plenty of reasons to be skeptical about the Beltway agenda here.

When Lindsey Graham, Bernie Sanders and Mo Brooks are all on the same side of a vote in Congress, you know the American people are getting screwed in a big way.

True, not sure how anyone living in a country where you cannot even keep your own bank account deposits has any reason to give Russia crap.

The bad guy in this is Biden…or perhaps I should say the Biden Crime Family. They put Zelensky in the presidency, even though his sole prior experience was as a lousy TV comedian playing a president in the Ukrainian version of West Wing.

Zelensky ignored the prior agreements and even the referendums from these Russian-ethnic and Russian speaking border areas because he was confident that Biden would send him money (if only because he has the dirt on the Biden Crime Family).

Putin is what he is..an authoritarian president, popular with some but not with others, and with the traditional Russian vision - both pre-Soviet and Post-Soviet- of Russia as a savior nation.

Crazy? Maybe, but it’s a thousand year old craziness if so. You all need to read your Dostoyevsky and learn more about the non-Communist vision of Russia.

The USSR (Communist Russia) was heavily supported by the US press and intellectual community throughout its existence, and these same folks are furious that Reagan brought about its final collapse. It was already collapsing because communism is unsustainable but Reagan gave it the nudge.

I would say that one of the reasons Russia is considered our enemy now is that they will not accept “transgenders,” they are trying to reduce abortions, and they want to restore families.

But mostly this “crisis” is being brought about by the Biden connections. Even many in the EU are beginning to say, “wait, what?” And I don’t think even NATO wants to be dragged into this.

Meh, it’s largely perception driven and when the masses are incessantly inundated with pro-Ukrainian material day after day after day after day via the dominant Western/UK/US/EU/NATO propaganda ridden ‘yellow journalism’ media, it’s becomes not necessarily a “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it” scenario, it really becomes a ‘Who controls the news, controls the world’ scenario.

Not sure about ‘believe’, but they will be afraid to publicly say otherwise.

Can anyone know what the “truth” of this situation is? Power holders know they can bamboozle us with media and stall us out until the next event comes along to strengthen their grip.

IIRC, “this CPAC guy” and his wife, Mercedes, said Biden with the election fairly. That was about a year or so ago. Since then, he can kiss my ass.

This thread is just an example of how he’s happy to go with the flow and change his mind depending on which way the political wind blows. Principles don’t mean much.

“Invasion,” “invaded,” etc. is relative to user.

Seriously? That’s what you have left?

There’s a minority faction in the country wishing things were different so that justifies a military invasion?

They have are terms primarily touted and often used by the Western/US/UK/EU/NATO propaganda-ridden ‘yellow journalism’ media.

Terms like ‘invasion’ are propaganda?

LOL.

Putin isn’t the one keeping our borders open Putin isn’t the one who wanted to fire me for not getting a vaccine I didn’t need Russians didn’t riot all summer and burn down our cities.

No, those were all brought to you by the same forces that control Ukraine. Deep State Inc. (Soros, Rothschilds, and their American stooges).

This war is very simple. Deep State versus anti-Deep State.

Ukraine is no better than Russia. It’s just that Putin’s actions are more apparent than Zelensky’s. Zelensky is a sneak and 100% in bed with the RAT party with the position of Chief Money Launderer.

Putin and Zelensky would be equally happy to see the demise of a free America.

Thank you. Exactly right.

NOBODY here “supports” Putin. Nobody should support Ukraine.

I noticed that you went from your basement, got in your private jet, and headed over to the 4 regions that voted to join Russia and asked them too......

Your dismissive attitude is par and a typical for those who simply don’t want their worldview, perceptions, view points, biases, etc disturbed with an opposing argument, view point, etc. GG.

There’s a difference between just advocating against foreign aid to Ukraine, and showing the image of a flying Russian flag.

4 states voting (under duress) to join Mexico wouldn’t justify a military invasion into CA and AZ by Mexico.

And you know it.

You are soooo brainwashed. The Speaker of the Russian Duma talks of reversing the “illegal” transfer of Alaska and you’re fine with that? You are fine with their endless talk of winning a nuclear war against America. What has Ukraine done to you? You think Kiev is more corrupt than Washington or California or Seattle or Moscow? Zelensky has done a lot right in saving his country from the Russian blitz. If Russia steals Ukraine’s black soil areas, its coal fields, its potential petro fields, its mill towns, ports, and other resources Russia becomes an even more dangerous and arrogant enemy.
