New Jersey’s clear and unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean from its beautiful and pristine shorelines will soon end. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy intends to build America’s largest wind turbines off the coast of the Jersey Shore from Long Beach Island south to Cape May.

Hope they are building a coal plant for every ten of these useless windmills.
How well can these hurricane catchers weather a hurricane?
/-)
Batteries to store the stuff will weight many tons.
Can hardly wait for the 30 million acres of Gulf of Mexico to be adorned with wind turbines. To “supply” power to 11 million homes. HUH? That’s approx 2.3 acres per home. That doesn’t sound like a good ROI. And then, if we get a little disturbance like Ian cruising through....................
AWESOME!!!! Hey Jersey, many if you didn’t vote for this BUT more of you did. Enjoy!!! But what am I saying, somehow it’s “Trump’s Fault!!”
This was another stolen election. Wait until the first big storm knocks these out.
Building something that can’t be protected by putting it near or in the Atlantic, is an open end to disaster. The last one to hit New Jersey was Sandy which did $30M worth of damage. Image putting their eggs in one basket and having the basket dropped. Wind turbine platforms are not capable of holding their own against 200 MPH winds in the ocean.
So what happens when the plug is pulled and power for most of the state goes away? That’s simple, people are going to die. (Plus the money)

NJ Jersey voted for him
I would occasionally drive from PA to the Jersey shore-—it’s about 50 minutes from here. I only go into NJ occasionally to be mesmerized by the beauty of the ocean. Now they’re taking that away as well. These people HATE the beauty that only our hearts can appreciate.
Environmentalists are destroying the planet to save the planet. Billions of trees are mowed down for the Balsa wood and the Amazon is being leveled for this. The blades end up in massive landfills and they never go away. Wind Turbines already kill as much as three-quarters of a million birds a year, turbine deforestation kills countless more birds by destroying their habitats. But it’s all good!!!
Residents of the Jersey shore HATE this plan. But they’re mostly Republicans so Fuhrer Murphy doesn’t give a damn.
Did our legislature have anything to do with this?

A 1.5 (MW) wind turbine of a type frequently seen in the United States has a tower 80 meters (260 ft) high. The rotor assembly (blades and hub) weighs 22,000 kilograms (48,000 lb). The nacelle, which contains the generator, weighs 52,000 kilograms (115,000 lb). The concrete base for the tower is constructed using 26,000 kilograms (58,000 lb) reinforcing steel and contains 190 cubic meters (250 cu yd) of concrete. The base is 15 meters (50 ft) in diameter and 2.4 meters (8 ft) thick near the center.[50] >>>> from wiki . I guess Murphy will need about 5000 turbines to get to 7500 megawatts.
I honestly believe we are close to a tipping point against this lunacy. I can foresee in the near future armies/navies of workers tearing down these useless monuments to human stupidity.
Of course this jackass wants to ruin the southern beaches. Living in South Jersey means having to watch as North Jersey politicians take all the tax money and use it in North Jersey while pushing the nasty stuff on the south.
Look on the bright side, we’re saving the planet. D’oh.
Hard to say that with any certainty. Yes, NJ has a long history of voting to the left, but has also elected numerous Republican governors, ousting much less odious and disliked governors than Rat-Face Murphy.
The last tranquil view in NJ is being ruined by leftists. All in the name of “clean”-—there’s nothing clean about these eyesores. They can’t be recycled, kill wildlife, cost and energy used in manufacturing, installation, shipping would take almost a decade to break even. Then there’s cabling, power stations, battery storage (more toxins/costs)...it kills wildlife, dangerous to boats and vessels. And not to mention the tranquil views of the ocean are GONE!! This is not only a horrible idea, it’s anti-environment all in the name of “clean”.
I thought environmentalists were up in arms about these things because they killed endangered sea birds.
